Trivia answer – Leopold, Corvo, Niedermayer, F. Kaberle, Timonen

For FIVE Karma – answer in the NHL Discussion section of the forum – one answer per person – name the five active defensemen who have scored a penalty-shot goal in a regular season NHL game.

Patrick O'Sullivan has 10 points in his last 10 games.

Ed Jovanovski has 11 points in his last 10 games.

It's the beginning of the end for Fredrik Norrena's NHL career – the Jackets have waived him and he has already refused to report to the AHL. Steve Mason is in the NHL for good and is the No.1 guy. Pascal Leclaire has started just two of the last 11 games and he lost them both, giving up nine goals total.

Roberto Luongo will probably be out until the New Year – at least, that's how I'll be playing it.

Erik Ersberg left last night's contest with a lower body injury. Although they could recall Jonathan Quick, it may be time to get the jump on Jonathan Bernier.

With Teddy Purcell's two points last night, he has three in three games since his recall. He played with Kopitar and O'Sullivan, so you can't really lose with him right now. Dustin Brown played with Calder and Stoll.

Because of Glencross' lower body injury, the Flames recalled Jamie Lundmark, who is having an excellent AHL campaign, sitting in a sixth place tie in scoring.

The Oilers have returned Rob Schremp to Springfield

The Panthers have sent Shawn Matthias and Michal Repik back to the AHL. Welch, Horton, Zednik and Booth were all activated.

The Coyotes recalled Kevin Porter – apparently they just sent him down for a week to get in some ice time.

Mats Sundin will apparently decide between Vancouver the Rangers within the next few days. The Rangers have played two more games than the Canucks. I would say Sundin gets in 46 games with the Rangers, or 48 with Vancouver.

The Sharks at 25-3-2 are off to the best 30-game start in NHL history.

Joe Pavelski and Jonathan Cheechoo are expected back in the lineup by Thursday at the latest.

David Backes has six points and eight PIMs in his last six games for the Blues.

Elizabeth and Lewis reunite to bring you all the latest fantasy news and strategy, such as how our siblings would fare if called on to fill our roles like Owen Sillinger did for bro Cole. Then it’s onto news including coverage of the postponed CGY/LAK game and defensive injuries piling up in MIN and putting some strain on Gustavsson’s performance. Injuries and outjuries include a pair of goalies returning to their teams in Ingram and Shesterkin, as well as how Monahan’s wrist injury opens the door for big minutes for Fantilli. Finally, the pair touch on Voronkov and PLD’s hot streaks, and discuss John Carlson’s rollercoaster in light of Chychrun’s production.

Keeping Karlsson: Tuch Hunch

On this edition of the Keeping Karlsson Fantasy Hockey Podcast mega-show, Elan and Brian tour every team, ranking a slate of the least bad goalies, noticing the wind in some Red Wings’ and Stars’ sails, dangling snoozer status above a pair of commonly rostered power-play quarterbacks, and rushing or strolling, accordingly, to some skaters on the up and up.
