Marcus here. It seems like the Holidays have finally brought out the fighting spirit of Artyukhin. He had 2 fights and 20 PIM's last night. Now is the time to pick up a cheap PIM/SOG guy.
Angus here. Great win for Canada over the Czechs last night.
The Sabres called up Tim Kennedy from the AHL to fill in for the injured Thomas Vanek. No idea how long Vanek is out.
With Kimmo Timonen out at least a week with an ankle injury, expect the Flyers offense to suffer. He is the guy that makes that team tick. Matt Carle will see some more power play time, but I think every Flyer will suffer a bit with Timonen out of the lineup.
Paul Kariya, who has been out for what seams like forever, wasn't even able to make it through a full practice. The Blues miss his playmaking, especially on the power play.
With two more points last night, it is becomming more and more clear that Ron Hainsey is the only fantasy defenseman in Atlanta worth owning.
Craig Anderson replaced Tomas Vokoun last night mid-way through the 4-3 shootout loss to Tampa Bay. Anderson will need to keep up his hot play to take any starts back from Vokoun, who before the loss posted consecutive shutouts.
Congratulations to Bill Guerin on getting his 400th career goal against the Leafs last night.
Bryan Little is quietly putting up great numbers on a lousy team. With a hat trick last night, he is now on pace for over 30 goals and 60 points.
