It was another frenzied first week of July in the NHL. Let’s ignore some of the insane dollar amounts that we have seen and look at things strictly from a fantasy-hockey standpoint. Using the “buy low” and “sell high” strategy, here are some key changes to the fantasy value of some of the players who have moved.

Blue Jackets General Manager Scott Howson has had a very busy off-season so far. He has made a big splash on both the free agent market and the trade front. Rick Nash finally has some legitimate linemates to play with, and Nash has shown what he can do with good linemates while playing internationally. It is put up or shut up time for the potential 50-goal scorer.

 The Buffalo Sabres re-signed goaltender Ryan Miller to a five-year, $31.25 million contract extension on Friday.  TSN is reporting that the IIHF has suspended Alexander Radulov, Jason Krog, Nikita Filatov, Fedor Fedorov and Viktor Tikhonov from all international play pending investigation.
