The Leafs have assigned Nikolai Kulemin and Anton Stralman to the Marlies to get in some ice time during the break.
Since returning to the AHL after his NHL stint, Pens' goalie John Curry is 11-3-0. In January, his GAA in the AHL is 2.09 and his SP is .927. He deserves to be Fleury's backup next season and given the latter's penchant for injuries, it wouldn't surprise me if he picked up 20 wins. NHL wins.
Martin Gerber has cleared waivers and should be joining Binghamton of the AHL in all likelihood.
Mentioned yesterday, Alexandre Giroux scored again last night. That extends his AHL goal-scoring streak to 21 straight games.
