The Dispatch is reporting that Raffi Torres will be scratched tonight as he works on getting his stamina up to snuff. Freddy Modin will return to the lineup in his place.
Speaking of the Jackets, Filatov skated for 45 minutes and looks good – he probably won't play tonight, but next game is possible. Or they could just send him down again.
Not to panic anyone, but the Globe is reporting that Krejci was not in practice this morning. They are trying to dig up a reason. Stay tuned. When I know, you'll know. He took a regular shift last night and last played at the 59 minute mark.
Jamie Langenbrunner has 18 points and is a plus-10 in his last 16 games.
Ryan Whitney has seven points in his last nine games – just attribute his first seven games (one point, minus-6) to his own personal training camp.
Peter Forsberg has announced that he will not play in the NHL this season. Thank goodness – I didn't want him to kill any of my readers in their pools if they picked him up.
In Turco's last 21 games, he is 13-5-3 after winning just eight of his first 23.
Interesting that coach Andy Murray compared TJ Oshie to Adam Deadmarsh. A hardnosed, gritty player.
Andy McDonald will not be ready to play tomorrow. Perhaps Monday…
Phil Kessel played 19:16 last night and tallied two assists in his early return from mono.
Boston line combos with Kessel and Ryder back in: Krejci with Wheeler and Ryder; Savard with Lucic and Kessel; Bergeron with Kobasew and Axelsson.
Ville Leino was recalled to replace Zetterberg (back) but did not get into the lineup last night.
The Lightning's Riku Helenius, recently called up by the team, will probably see little to no action. A once highly-touted goaltender, he has slipped in terms of value and is several years from being a fantasy asset. If ever.
Cory Murphy only played 13:35 last night for TB
The Oilers recalled Ryan Potulny from the AHL. He has three points in four NHL games this year.
Other EDM news – the team is practicing with Tom Gilbert playing forward on the PP due to his right-hand shot. He is already a solid d-man asset, so this only helps.
Another game, another three points for Peverley. This guy has gone nutty in Atlanta – and he managed to get three points playing with Kovalchuk last night when Kovalchuk only tallied one point. He has 11 in six now and three three-point contests since joining the team seven games ago.
All five of Zach Bogosian's career NHL points have come in the last five games.
The Isles welcomed back Hilbert, Hunter and Campoli last night. Here is the impact on the line combos: Weight with Comrie and Guerin; Bailey with Okposo and Comeau on a kid line; Nielsen with Hunter and Park; Hilbert with Jackman and Thompson
