Sorry, Auld didn't start three straight – he started two and came on in relief in the other one. Still, his numbers in those three games: 2-0-1, 1.07 and 0.956. He goes on these hot streaks and if the Sens were smart they would ride him for the 5-7 games or so that he stays this hot.

Martin Erat is a minus-4 and pointless in his last seven games. He has two points in his last 11.

How many games can Dan Girardi go? After 16 points in 25 games he has zero in 24.

Alex Auld has started in three straight for the Sens and has not lost in regulation in that span. It would seem that Elliott lost the job that he seemed to have won.

Richard Zednik has eight points in seven games and is a plus-7 in that span.

Since returning from his illness, Marty Reasoner has seen his ice time increase by two minutes and he has three points in two games while centering the second line.

Johan Franzen returned, but Ville Leino remained in the lineup and played 10 minutes. Franzen had three points.

Steve Sullivan got his first goal of the season and quickly followed it up with his second. He is playing with Arnott and Dumont and the line is now clicking.

With the injury to Paul Martin, the Devils have recalled Anssi Salmela.

DAL line combos: Ribeiro, with Ott and Lehtinen; Modano with Brunnstrom and Neal; Peterson, with Lundqvist and Eriksson (sucks for Eriksson owners); Sutherby with Barch and Conner. Parrish is a spare.

The Sabres have assigned Nathan Gerbe to Portland because of the return of Gaustad. Lindy Ruff on Gerbe's zero goals in 10 games (from Buffalo News): “I really thought near the end he really started to press. Even in the meeting we had with him, he was really concerned he wasn’t putting up numbers. “On the power play, he tried a couple things that weren’t really in our playbook. It’s just the fact he wants so desperately to put some numbers up. His effort was good, his enthusiasm in the game was great. It will just take a little time.”

Thomas Vanek feels the 3-4 week timeline on his return from a broken job is optimistic, according to the Buffalo News.

Max Afinogenov is practicing and will return soon.

Jiri Tlusty scored FIVE goals for the Marlies last night – just another reason to buy cheap tickets for the upcoming DobberHockey event (below). Tlusty has 18 in his last eight AHL games. He is ranked 39 on my prospects list.

I don't care if it's bowling –  Watching a game in a luxury box is awesome.the fact that it is a hockey game makes it oh so much better.  Buy Marlies tickets at a discount now, and win a chance to watch in the luxury box – And this isn't the stupid "win now" crap you see on every bag of chips, or TV commercial – since only 200 tickets available and the suite holds 24, YOUR ODDS ARE FANTASTIC. Bond with your fantasy league and come down to Toronto for an afternoon of fantasy hockey!
