Interesting note – the Leafs have signed Jeff Hamilton as an unrestricted free agent. I suspect that his impact will be a big one early on, then fade away. That's his M.O.

Rostislav Olesz will be back in the lineup in about two weeks.

Jiri Hudler has just one point in his last seven contests.

Lost in the shuffle yesterday was the fact that the Penguins sent Miro Satan to Wilkes-Barre Scranton. Can he recover from this? I say no. He'll get one more shot in the NHL and fail. That's where my money is. And yes – I'm stuck with him in one of my keeper leagues.

Anaheim sent Drew Miller back to Iowa.

Nick Bonino, acquired by Anaheim from San Jose in the Moen/Huskins deal, is ranked 184 on my fantasy prospects list, but moves up next update due to what I am reading about how the Ducks are raving about him. He is also having a very strong year in college and is one to watch.

Jiri Tlusty had SIX points last night. This guy is on fire for the Marlies, already coming off AHL Player of the Month honors for February. You can watch him play live on Saturday, center ice seats, for a shade over 25 bucks. That's cheaper than you can find anywhere. CLICK HERE FOR DETAILS . You don't want to miss the chance to watch this guy dominate in his final year in the minors.

Anton Stralman has eight points in his last three games for the Marlies.

Tellqvist dressed last night for the Sabres, but it was Lalime who played. Lalime stopped 38 of 39 shots so he is looking like the guy in Buffalo right now.

The bad news on Carey Price? He got an opportunity to steal the starting job back but gave up five goals on 27 shots. The good news? There is none. He won't recover this year. Maybe in the playoffs when the chips are down, but not in the season. My little "expert league" gamble failed miserably. But it's first place or nothing. I don't care if I'm eighth or 10th. Hell, if I slip to 11th I get to play with the wonderful group in the forum next season. Man, would they kick my ass in a hurry.

Jaroslav Halak is recovering from the flu. Expect him in next game.

The so-called power-play specialist Matt Schneider played 24 minutes last night. If he was brought in strictly to man the power play, why did he play nearly 18 minutes at even strength? That alone is almost as much as Komisarek's total ice time.

Maxim Afinogenov picked up an assist in his return to the Buffalo lineup last night. He played 14:49.

Thomas Vanek also returned, but was pointless and a minus-1 in 13:42.

BUF line combos with the new lineup: Roy, with Paille and Afinogenov; Gaustad, with Hecht and Pominville; Connolly, with Stafford and Vanek.

According to the transactions report, some of the AHL players who were dealt yesterday were actually recalled first, so many of them are on NHL rosters. Of note, Petri Kontiola is on the Anaheim roster, Matt Lashoff is on the TB roster. This is probably related to the fact that NHL teams only have five (or four? Can't remember) recalls after the deadline. So they call these players up as a favor to the team they are trading them to and let the new team decide to either keep them or send them down without it costing a transaction. Lashoff will probably stay in Tampa and could have an impact.

Cal O'Reilly was sent back to the AHL by the Preds.

Jon Sim cleared waivers and was sent to Bridgeport.

You may have been shocked by this: the Isles have sent Kyle Okposo to the minors. As was Blake Comeau. HOWEVER – all this means is that these two will be eligible to play for Bridgeport in the playoffs. They needed to be on the roster to make them eligible for Bridgeport's "clear day" list. It does not sound as though Okposo will play a game for the Sound Tigers prior to the playoffs.

As expected, the Coyotes have recalled Josh Tordjman. He could see as many as five starts going forward, depending on how he does.

Sidney Crosby is questionable for tonight.

Pittsburgh top prospect Luca Caputi was demoted to Wheeling of the ECHL for "disciplinary reasons". He and Jon D'Aversa were both demoted for "a violation of team rules". How long they stay down there is dependent upon how well they do. So far so good – Caputi got there in time to play last night and scored a goal.

Washington's Brian Pothier is ready to return and is off to the AHL for conditioning.

I will be doing a "special" update for the rankings later today.
