Matt Lashoff played 23:01 for TB last night, including over four minutes on the PP. He was pointless and a minus-1.

With the NHL record now in his back pocket, Martin Brodeur will not be in net tonight for the Devils.

The Coyotes went with a tough lineup last night. Besides Fedoruk returning, and hard-hitting Brandon Prust also skating – Brian McGrattan is back. The big giant played 8:36 and dropped the gloves with Jody Shelley. I took the liberty of sticking the youtube clip below for you…

The Preds recalled Patric Hornqvist from Milwaukee. He has 11 points in his last 10 AHL games, including eight games in a row with a goal. He is ranked 71 on my prospects list.

Kyle Turris had his first career four-point game last night. He was given the ice time and he played with Shane Doan. I can't see Gretzky changing that for next game, so pluck him off your waiver wire.

Bryan McCabe's return to the lineup didn't impact Steve Eminger any. Eminger still saw 22 minutes of ice time and 3:23 on the PP. He was still pointless, but this continued faith being shown by current and former coach DeBoer is promising.

Rusty Olesz played just eight minutes again, and he was a minus-1.

Brett Sterling saw over 17 minutes and plenty of PP time last night, but once again was shut out. It's painful as a Sterling owner – one who had given up on the guy – to watch him finally be given a proper chance, only to see him blow it. These guys don't get a big window. Unless they are highly-touted like a Kyle Turris, the organization won't be patient. They won't throw him out there game after game. Players like Sterling get three, maybe four decent chances over the course of three seasons and then they're permanent AHLers. This is Sterling's second "decent" chance. He should get one more in training camp, but time is running out – he's nearly 25.

Jere Lehtinen's return didn't seem to hurt James Neal's ice time. He saw over 18 minutes and a whopping 5:25 on the PP (but was pointless).

DAL line combos: Ribeiro with Eriksson and Ott; Modano with Lehtinen and Morrison; Sutherby with Neal and Conner.

David Backes continues to roll. He has 10 points and 12 PIMs in his last seven games. He has also seen more than 20 minutes in two games in a row for the first time this year, which makes his immediate outlook even more promising.

Brad Richards is reportedly ahead of his 6-8 week timeline and could be back in the lineup by the weekend.

I think the Pens should inject the flu bug into Malkin's water bottle. He was supposedly still feeling a little sick last night, yet he managed to tally five points and become the first player to hit 100 this year.

Congrats to Martin Brodeur for earning his NHL record 552nd win last night.
