Monteal Signs Brian Gionta

Montreal has signed Brian Gionta to a five-year deal worth $5 million per season.
Fantasy Impact: The good news for Gionta owners is that at $5 million bucks a season, he'll get a lot more than 17 minutes a game of ice time. He'll also see a lot more than 2:25 of power-play time per game. So we should see an improvement on his "three" power-play goals from last year. Maybe not his 24 power play goals from a few years ago, but we'll see more. Look for 67-72 points.
His absence in New Jersey will mean a rebound year for the veteran Brian Rolston.
