Angus here – Shirokov’s contract is two-way, so he is not a lock for the roster by any means. It is a standard ELC (entry level contract).

 

Thanks to a suggestion in the forum, I have added in the “other features” section a link to all of my archived daily ramblings (approaching 900 of them it is interesting to note).

 

The Globe and Mail is reporting that Sergei Shirokov’s contract is worth $875 per season – two years. That’s a lot of money to pay him in the AHL, so he’s a lock for the roster I would venture to say. Wide-range of possibilities to expect here.

Andrew Walker, host of Dobber Nation and based in Red Deer, tells me that Kris Russell (who trains in Red Deer) injured his back and returned to Columbus for treatment. He should be ready for camp, but with those back injuries you never know…
