Dobber Sports

2009-09-02

The Fantasy Guide will be updated midday tomorrow. There was more work to be done in it than I thought, so the update will be ready tomorrow afternoon. Lots of additions!

Check out the newest fantasy tool addition in the ever growing FrozenPool lineup:  Compare-A-Goalie

Pit your fantasy goalies against each other or use it find the hottest free agent pickup and see who comes out on top! It’s never been so simple. All stats are included as well as averages over the last 3 season for main categories.

If you haven’t already done so, add your players in FrozenPool’s Fantasy Manager to manage your players and highlight team weaknesses throughout the season!

An excellent DobberHockey debut article from Brent Lemon will be up – look for it later today.

Atlanta has invited Manny Legace to camp. I can’t believe he has been run out of the NHL so quickly. There is really no way that Atlanta has room for him – and what if Lehtonen gets hurt in camp and he plays well enough for the Thrashers to sign him? Pavelec is already on edge about being demoted… that would almost certainly send him back to the KHL. I don’t get this one.

Puck Daddy was told by Nik Zherdev that he has been talking with Atlanta. That would give you a talented Russian line and would push Rich Peverley right off the top-six map.

The latest Luongo reports have him signed for 12 years now, and not 10 – for $64 million.

Information on the DobberHockey 3-Tiered Invitational can be found right here. Interest has been surprising. I figured I would get a couple of dozen, and then a couple dozen more once I posted the same info inside the actual Fantasy Guide, but I already have over 100 people interested in putting their names in for the draw.

Keeping Karlsson Short Shifts – Thanks for Vejmelkmories

Elizabeth and Lewis reunite to bring you all the latest fantasy news and strategy, such as how our siblings would fare if called on to fill our roles like Owen Sillinger did for bro Cole. Then it’s onto news including coverage of the postponed CGY/LAK game and defensive injuries piling up in MIN and putting some strain on Gustavsson’s performance. Injuries and outjuries include a pair of goalies returning to their teams in Ingram and Shesterkin, as well as how Monahan’s wrist injury opens the door for big minutes for Fantilli. Finally, the pair touch on Voronkov and PLD’s hot streaks, and discuss John Carlson’s rollercoaster in light of Chychrun’s production.

Keeping Karlsson: Tuch Hunch

On this edition of the Keeping Karlsson Fantasy Hockey Podcast mega-show, Elan and Brian tour every team, ranking a slate of the least bad goalies, noticing the wind in some Red Wings’ and Stars’ sails, dangling snoozer status above a pair of commonly rostered power-play quarterbacks, and rushing or strolling, accordingly, to some skaters on the up and up.
