The word on Lucic is – 4-6 weeks after he underwent finger surgery today.

The Kings will scratch Alex Frolov tonight. More on the story HERE. Frolov will be a UFA this summer. He’s already cancelling his earlier order of that second boat.

Jason Arnott – out one to two weeks. Will Cal O’Reilly get an audition on the top line now?

Is your keeper league the best out there? Let’s hear about it – send an email to dobbernation @ dobberhockey .com and get yourself on this weekend’s show! Did you miss the last episode? You missed a goodie – Filppula, Glencross, Proteau and myself were the guests. LISTEN HERE while you surf

Brett Clark is looking like a decent short-term option on defense while Liles is on the shelf. He has five points this season and one in two games since Liles got hurt.

The Sharks sent Jamie McGinn back to Worcester.

The Coyotes sent Kevin Porter back to San Antonio. He did not get into a game. He’ll need an injury to hit a key guy in Phoenix before garnering any fantasy interest for this season.

Damien Cox is musing that the Leafs should pick up Brendan Shanahan. Um…wasn’t the big problem with this team the fact that they brought in too many over-the-hill vets to wind down their career? And weren’t they criticized for that daily by the media? The Toronto media is like a shopping bag in a wind storm – you don’t know where it’s going and the bag doesn’t know either. Not that I don’t think Shanny would help, but that really would be taking a step backwards.

Until Phil Kessel ends his time with Toronto without having a 40-goal season, it is silly to say that the Leafs were dumb to give up two firsts and a second for him. It won’t mean Taylor Hall, the Leafs will not finish within lottery range of 30th.

Ryan O’Reilly has six points in eight games. I still see him as more of 50-point checking line guy (in the future) and I think his latest hot streak is related to the arrival of David Jones (his linemate). Don’t expect this run to last.

Mikko Koivu and Brent Burns are a combined minus-15 this season…
