For those of you not in Vancouver – check out what you are missing! Thanks to Dobber reader Duane S. for the link! It is an awesome aerial panorama photograph that is updated and you can move around in it.

Some more funny names from the pool – The Dangelina Jolies, and Timonen and Pumba. I’ll announce the winner on Saturday. Have gone through as many teams as I can! If you see a really funny name, send me a message!

Best line of the tournament so far? What do you think? The Parise-Stastny-Kane combo was solid on day one, and I really liked the Eriksson-Backstrom-Alfredsson line from yesterday. I didn’t catch the Czech/Slovak game last night but it sounded like a great one. Apparently Jagr was flying out there!

I was lucky enough to be at the Canada/Norway game on Tuesday night! The atmosphere in the stadium and in the city was incredible. I have posted a few pictures below.

My thoughts from the game – Canada has so much speed and size up front. They only really started to use it during the second half of the game, as all of the players appeared very tentative early on. The best defensemen were Shea Weber and Drew Doughty. Up front I really liked Rick Nash’s game – he is so big and so skilled, it is a shame that he isn’t able to deliver on a consistent basis with Columbus. He should be in Art Ross/Richard contention every season.

Niedermayer was solid, not spectacular. Pronger had a good game. Seabrook didn’t play much and is the 7th guy right now. Keith was average – he had a rough start, and was very nervous with the puck. Dan Boyle was decent, but he is a liability at times when he gets chasing in the defensive zone.

I think Mike Richards and Jonathan Toews could be key players for Canada with their versatility, both in terms of winger/center and in different situations.

Watching the Russian game, I was very impressed by defenseman Konsantin Korneyev (number 22). He was great on the PP and has an absolute bomb of a shot. He was a 9th rounder back in 2002 (picked by Montreal), and has an impressive 28 points in 53 games with CSKA Moscow this season.

Stolen from Puck Daddy – interesting article talking about how most Canadians shoot left, while more Americans shoot right. I shoot right – what about you guys/gals? Speaking of Puck Daddy, they have commentaries going for every game of the Olympics. Good reading to get through the lean times in the hockey world!

Nikolai Khabibulin was arrested for driving drunk in Scottsdale, Arizona. Just when you think that the Oilers season couldn’t possibly get any worse…

I’ll try and have a fantasy advice thread on the boards at some point over the next few days. Stay tuned for it!

I saw Ray Shero at the Canada/Norway game, as well as Sergei Kostitsyn. Shero was there to get a good look at Crosby, I’m sure.

Fantasy hockey has taken a back seat to the Olympics for me – I haven’t checked my pools in a few days, and don’t have any trade discussions going.
