Don’t forget to join me for live chat at 8pm ET (that’s the headline article, for those of you who are … oblivious).

Alexei Ponikarovsky is not in the pregame skate for the Leafs.

Chicago has acquired Nick Boynton for future considerations. This is a depth move only. AHL.

Official: Ray Emery is out for the season. And his hip injury is being compared to what ended Bo Jackson’s career. In other words – he could be forced to retire. I think Leighton will be the guy… unless they land Ellis somehow (cap-wise).

Per Bob McKenzie via Twitter – Brad Boyes is available.

Russo confirmed – Zidlicky three years, $12 million. Terrible signing. Not that he’s no good – I like him. But they’re not going to make the playoffs and in the summer Zidlicky could certainly have been replaced if they so desired. Brent Burns falls to second PP unit.

Andy Sutton has been traded to Ottawa for a second round pick.

Boston acquires d-man Stephen Kampfer from the Ducks for a mid-round pick.

Justin Peters will start for Carolina tonight.

Patrice Bergeron suffered a groin injury in the Olympics and will not play tonight.

Marian Gaborik, per Steve Zipay on Twitter, was not on the ice for practice.

Tomas Kaberle, per Darren Dreger, has not submitted a list nor waived his NTC.

Rumor now has Braydon Coburn and Ryan Parent to Nashville for Hamhuis, but another rumor has Dan Hamhuis negotiating a contract to stay.

Rumor is that Atlanta has signed Chris Chelios, who has had a strong season with their minor league affiliate Chicago (AHL). However, I wonder if this is just Chicago signing him to another 30-day contract and someone on the Internet misinterpreted it and things just got carried away. We’ll know soon enough, I guess. Not that Chelios is going to save your pool.

Another minor deal yesterday involved Chicago acquiring Hannu Toivenen and Danny Richmond for Joe Fallon. They upgraded their No.4 goaltender… not sure why. Perhaps foreshadowing moving one out? I’m just speculating, but I can see Toivenen asking the Blues for a trade and the Blues accommodating him. There is no motivation for them to do this deal otherwise. Regardless – no fantasy consequence.

Nashville has recalled Alexander Sulzer and Colin Wilson. The recall was done prior to the Grebby trade, however Cody Franson is recovering from a rib injury. Franson is considered likely to play.

According to the Tennessean, the Preds have reunited Dumont, Sullivan and Arnott. The second line is Goc with Hornqvist and Erat. As good as Goc has been, I think it would make more sense to have either O’Reilly or Legwand there.

Good news – the Jackets have recalled Grant Clitsome. Now we can giggle like school girls again when we read his name. Go ahead. Read it again.

Michael Russo is reporting that a deal to extend Marek Zidlicky is pretty much agreed to. However, he wants a no-trade clause throughout the three-year agreement and that is a major snag.

Flyers whose names are prominent in trade talks – Ryan Parent and Braydon Coburn.

The Flyers have placed Riley Cote on waivers and Ray Emery on long-term IR, thus freeing up cap space for something…

What to make of Chris Stewart? Is he some potential superstar that we had misjudged? Another two points last night gives him 38 in 39 games. That’s half a season of point-per-game numbers.

Paul Stastny picked up an assist and played 22 minutes last night. Brian Rafalski also played 22 minutes, but was held pointless.

Artyukhin deal analysis forthcoming…

Dan Sexton has been sent to Bakersfield (ECHL). I’m thinking the reasoning here is what one of my Twitter followers told me – it’s closer to Anaheim than Toronto is, thus making a recall fast and easy.

Elizabeth and Lewis reunite to bring you all the latest fantasy news and strategy, such as how our siblings would fare if called on to fill our roles like Owen Sillinger did for bro Cole. Injuries and outjuries include a pair of goalies returning to their teams in Ingram and Shesterkin, as well as how Monahan’s wrist injury opens the door for big minutes for Fantilli. Finally, the pair touch on Voronkov and PLD’s hot streaks, and discuss John Carlson’s rollercoaster in light of Chychrun’s production.

On this edition of the Keeping Karlsson Fantasy Hockey Podcast mega-show, Elan and Brian tour every team, ranking a slate of the least bad goalies, noticing the wind in some Red Wings’ and Stars’ sails, dangling snoozer status above a pair of commonly rostered power-play quarterbacks, and rushing or strolling, accordingly, to some skaters on the up and up.
