DobberHockey Down the Stretch Contest – Week 2

As of next Monday, there will be three weeks left in the NHL regular season. Beginning last week, we are running weekly contests here at DobberHockey. Each week, there will be a list of players provided with a specific scoring system. The entrant with the most points at the end of each week will receive an autographed 8×10 photo (Ribeiro, Sullivan, Boyes, or Spezza). To reward our loyal DobberHockey members, those with over 1000 posts on the forums will be given a slight advantage. However, if you make a shrewd selection, it won't matter if your post count is low.

For the second week, the points system will reward shots on goal and penalty minutes. Of the list below, select one player (those with over 1000 posts select two, and the better one will count at the end of the week).

Blake Comeau

Viktor Stalberg

Michael Grabner

Chris Kunitz

Patric Hornqvist

Devin Setoguchi

Mike Richards

Nik Antropov

Eric Fehr

Bobby Ryan

Lee Stempniak

Brian Gionta

Peter Mueller

Shots on goal are worth two points each, and penalty minutes are worth a point each (so a fight would be five points). For example, a player finishing the week with 11 shots on goal and nine penalty minutes would have 31 points.

In the event of a tie (which is likely if we receive a lot of entries), the tiebreaker will be plus-minus related. Simply send me the player (**NOT JUST ON THIS LIST, BUT ANY NHL PLAYER**) who you think will finish the week with the lowest/worst plus-minus in the league for the week.

Week 2 scoring will run from Monday March 22nd to Sunday March 28th.

The cut-off for submissions is midnight EST/9pm PST on Sunday March 21st . Send your pick (or picks, depending on post count) to me ([email protected]) This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it ). In the subject line, put "DobberHockey Contest Week 2", and in the body of the email, include your selection (with the tiebreaker) and username on the forum (if applicable).

Keeping Karlsson Short Shifts – Thanks for Vejmelkmories

Elizabeth and Lewis reunite to bring you all the latest fantasy news and strategy, such as how our siblings would fare if called on to fill our roles like Owen Sillinger did for bro Cole. Then it’s onto news including coverage of the postponed CGY/LAK game and defensive injuries piling up in MIN and putting some strain on Gustavsson’s performance. Injuries and outjuries include a pair of goalies returning to their teams in Ingram and Shesterkin, as well as how Monahan’s wrist injury opens the door for big minutes for Fantilli. Finally, the pair touch on Voronkov and PLD’s hot streaks, and discuss John Carlson’s rollercoaster in light of Chychrun’s production.

Keeping Karlsson: Tuch Hunch

On this edition of the Keeping Karlsson Fantasy Hockey Podcast mega-show, Elan and Brian tour every team, ranking a slate of the least bad goalies, noticing the wind in some Red Wings’ and Stars’ sails, dangling snoozer status above a pair of commonly rostered power-play quarterbacks, and rushing or strolling, accordingly, to some skaters on the up and up.
