Goldie here – the Preds have signed Anders Lindback to a new entry-level deal and he’s expected to play in North America for the 2010-11 season. Good move. Also the Sens have re-signed Mike Brodeur to a new one-year deal. Another good move. Expect him to see some NHL action and some consecutive starts if Leclaire has another band-aid season.

TSN reports that the Rangers have signed undrafted winger Mats Zuccarello-Aasen, who led the Swedish Elite League in scoring as a member of Modo. Why was he undrafted? He’s 5-7 and weighs around 160. The 22-year-old had three points in four games for Norway at the Olympics. The Rangers seem to be high on him. I would imagine that the contract is a two-way agreement, but he is young enough where he could yo-yo between the NHL and the AHL for a couple of years and still maintain some fantasy upside. Worth keeping on your radar, but nothing more at this point.

Not sure if this was mentioned, but St. Louis super scout (and assistant GM) Jarmo Kekalainen is stepping down on June 30th (after the draft) to take over as GM for Jokerit back in Finland. Kekalainen is widely regarded as one of the best scouts in the game, and the quality and quantity of prospects in the Blues system speaks to that.

Alexander Radulov was the KHL MVP for 2009-10. According to Dmitry Chesnokov of Puck Daddy, Radulov says “the decision to leave NSH was tough. The move was tough. But I didn’t make a mistake when I left.” My hunch? The MVP vote was influenced by the fact that the KHL needs a superstar like him, since Jagr and Morozov are getting old. A year from now, when his KHL contract is up, he’ll have a hard time leaving if he’s the two-time MVP (assuming he wins again, which he will if he’s among the scoring leaders).

Some more details on the surgeries to Simon Gagne and Jeff Carter, as well as some of the reasoning. Apparently, surgery got them back into game shape sooner, but was not necessary. They went with the surgery hoping that the Flyers would last long enough for them to return. Had they just let it heal naturally, they would still be in the press box right now.

The Avs signed Adam Foote to a one-year deal with a cap hit of one million bucks. He’ll be 39 next season. That mildly hurts the chances of Kevin Shattenkirk making the squad.

Tonight is Game 7 of the AHL semi-finals and PK Subban and Ben Maxwell will both be in the lineup for Hamilton.

The Rangers acquired rearguard Jyri Niemi from the Isles. Not weird that the Isles traded him, since he needs to be signed by this weekend and obviously they were having trouble doing so – or else they didn’t want to sign him. He has no fantasy value at this time, but in a few years he could pan out as a decent offensive rearguard. The Rangers signed Niemi

Some interesting facts, if you didn’t already know them – Marian Hossa is in the Cup Final for the third straight season, with three different teams. Chris Pronger is in the Stanley Cup Final for the third time as well – all in his first year with a new team. Chicago and Philadelphia drafted 1-2 in 2007 (Kane and JVR). Now they’ve come full circle.

I have nothing to base this on other than the fact that he’s still playing upper-tier hockey, but I think Nicklas Lidstrom will play another year.

I count six days left – until the Fantasy Prospects Report is made available. You can buy it now in the shop.

I see that on five different occasions, David Perron went seven games in a row with no more than two points last season. Now that’s Inconsistency. Huselius’ reputation is at stake here!
