Bryan McCabe to the Rangers

Fantasy Impact: The Rangers have traded for defenseman Bryan McCabe. They sent winger Tim Kennedy and a draft pick to Florida in return.
The Rangers get: A veteran defenseman capable of playing on the first PP unit. McCabe still has a great shot and he moves the puck well. His defensive game has never been as bad as advertised, but he has lost a step or two over the past few seasons.
The Panthers get: A young winger with decent offensive upside. Kennedy had no future with the Rangers, but you can bet Florida will want to see what they have in him (it sounds like they will try and sneak him through on re-entry waivers from the AHL).
Fantasy Players Impacted:
McCabe immediately becomes the PP defenseman the Rangers will build around for the short term. Matt Gilroy is definitely on the trading block now, if he wasn’t already. Hours after the trade the Rangers sent down the struggling Michael Del Zotto to the AHL.
Fantasy Players this helps, in order:
1. McCabe
2. Kennedy
3. McDonagh (long-term)
4. Rangers PP unit
5. Dmitri Kulikov
Fantasy Players this hurts, in order:
1. Del Zotto
2. Gilroy
