Ramblings are late this morning - Happy Family Day to 25% of my readers! Enjoy yesterday's ramblings while I finish putting today's together...   Here it is - as I hinted a few days ago - the team finally says the "c" word about Brad Richards.   Marco Scandella has returned to practice for [...]

Hemsky

In Part 4 of this six-part series, we’ll take a team-by-team look at the Northwest Division. Buyers? Sellers? Who’s available? How can you prepare your fantasy roster for the upcoming address changes for some of these guys? Everything you need to know as a fantasy hockey owner about the 2011 NHL Trade Deadline is right here. Hell, I’ve already nailed a few of the speculated players moving. All you need is a bit of research and I save you the trouble.

The Blues and Avalanche Swap Young Stars

Johnson

Fantasy Impact: Colorado traded rugged winger Chris Stewart, prized young defenseman Kevin Shattenkirk, and a 2nd round draft pick to St. Louis in exchange for former 1st overall pick Erik Johnson, shutdown center Jay McClement, and a conditional 1st round pick. One of the most surprising (and interesting) trades in recent memory.

Colborne a Big Catch

Colborne

Brian Burke has his detractors, no doubt. But when you consider Tomáš Kaberle had the Toronto Maple Leafs’ over the proverbial barrel, a hotshot prospect like Joe Colborne and a first round draft pick is a pretty decent return. Especially, if Colborne, and his six-foot-five frame, dominates at the NHL level in a few seasons, the way many believe he can.

Dobber: I am completely re-writing the first three segments of my six-part Deadline Day series. So much has gone done that I've changed everything. Even Chris Drury's injury changes the Rangers from "being unable to afford Brad Richards" to no being able to squeeze him in. I've also dug deeper into Cap Geek to [...]

Saturday’s NHL Picks – February 19th

Pavelec

Trying to pick six certain winners isn’t as easy as it looks. Quite a few third period letdowns led to only one correct prediction two Saturdays ago.  Caribou didn’t hit .500 so she’s getting sent down as Thunder has been clawing to get back into the action. Only nine games on the schedule this Saturday as a warm up to Hockey Day in the US and the Heritage Classic out at McMahon Stadium on Sunday.  Hope everyone has a safe and happy weekend.
