Great news on Tomas Fleischmann here.

In his last 11 games, Manny Malhotra has eight points and is plus-9.

Derek MacKenzie has been centering the top line for Columbus lately (since Brassard went down). MacKenzie has six points and is plus-4 in his last eight.

Great comments below, most notably – they changed the official scoring on the final Buffalo goal to give Sekera an assist – that gives him five consecutive two-point games. And Jarome Iginla’s goal gives him 30 for the 10th straight campaign, putting him in a small group with hockey legends.

Curtis Glencross has 20 points in his last 20 games, and 25 in his last 27 games. Sommmmebody wants a nice contract…

My topic for tomorrow’s THN column: Bryan Bickell – why we aren’t taking him seriously in fantasy leagues… and why we should.

Ryan Callahan scored four times and added an assist for the Rags as they hammered the Flyers 7-0. He was also a plus-3 with five shots on goal. And Jeff Angus is kicking himself before he had Callahan on the bench for this week. Ouch!

Mats Zuccarello, who strikes me as a streaky player, scored for the second straight game, so perhaps we’re in for a bit of a surge.

Bryan McCabe picked up his first point as a Ranger Sunday. In four games he has yet to sit in the sin bin. In fact, this entire season has been a write-off for that category. C’mon Bryan! Us poolies need all the categories from you please.

With both Boucher and Bobrovsky getting rocked pretty badly Sunday, one has to wonder if Mike Leighton is getting recalled soon. It could be just the tonic to steady the boat.

Al Montoya took the OT loss Sunday, but his 15-game NHL career still boasts of a GAA of under 2.00.

Dennis Wideman is pointless in three games with Washington and Marco Sturm is pointless in two. So far, no good. What looks great on paper doesn’t always translate, as we’re seeing here.

With Brendan Morrison out with a knee injury, David Moss has been moved to center for the Flames. What’s more, he started the game with Iginla and Tanguay.

Don’t look for Brad Richards to play tonight – but the fact that we’re getting these updates every would indicate that he’s close. Unlike Crosby, who gives us zero updates which indicates that he won’t be back for a long, long time.

Alexander Sulzer is out with an undisclosed injury, thus possibly ruining the one tiny window in his career to make his mark in the NHL. Young careers have disappeared – never to be really launched – for reasons like this during opportunities like this in the past.

Jacob Josefson’s first NHL point was an assist on Ilya Kovalchuk’s goal Sunday. I have a feeling you’ll see the two of them in scoring summaries together a lot over the next several years.

Sekera watch: nine points in five games. He had 12 points in 56 games before that. Whatever he put in his corn flakes two weeks ago, we should all get ourselves some.

A good sign for Sekera is that Jordan Leopold has been back for two games now and yet Sekera has three points to Leopold’s zero.

Tyler Ennis left yesterday’s contest when he crashed into the boards, but Lindy Ruff said that he is okay.

Mike Richards vs. Brandon Dubinsky:

Jody Shelley vs. Brian Boyle – and before you say that Shelley the known pugilist will kill him, keep in mind that Boyle is 6-7. Too bad it’s a quick takedown, I would like to see a rematch here.
