Rick Nash has gone 10 games without a goal. That’s the third longest of his career, according to the Dispatch.

Dany Heatley could be suspended for this elbow on Steve Ott – I added the clip below.

With Jason ARnott out for a week or two, along with Backstrom, Marcus Johansson is in the spotlight. Two goals last night and five points in four games. Backstrom, by the way, had his cast removed and shouldn’t be too much longer.

In eight games since being sent down, Mathieu Perreault has four points, which would explain why the Caps are hesitating in bringing him back up during this center shortfall.

With David Moss wearing a boot – he’s probably gone for at least a couple of weeks. The Flames have recalled Ales Kotalik, who needs to clear re-entry waivers. If I’m battling for a playoff spot in the West, I claim. Even if it means paying him and sitting him in the press box (which, on my team, it would). Yes, I’d be the agitator of GM’s. Dobber for GM! (see below for more on agitators)

Sidney Crosby was back on the ice yesterday after feeling no symptoms after the Monday skate.

Loui Eriksson did not return after being taken out by a Douglas Murray hit. Suspendable? See below. They call it an upper body injury, but come on – concussion. The guy was stumbling afterwards.

Mattias Tedenby has three points and is plus-3 in his last two games. Five games ago, Jacob Josefson was looking for his first NHL point. Today he has four of them, and is plus-3 in that span. The cavalry has arrived on this aging team and it could be enough to get them back in the playoffs next season (yeah, I’m still counting them out for this year).

New Jersey is last in league scoring with 150 goals, then Ottawa with 158 and Florida with 175.

Imagine if the Devils do squeak in? They’d have to do it on a 33-4-2 run. Would you want to be the Flyers trying to stand in front of that freight train?

You just know that the Devils will try and help Brodeur get 30 wins for the 14th time in 15 years. So look for him to start all of the final games unless that win total gets out of reach. He has 20 now, 13 games left.

Halfway through the game and Al Montoya was hanging in there at 2-2. Then the bottom dropped out and he was pulled for the third period. He’s 7-3-3, 2.36 and 0.920 this season. I think the Isles will go with him, Poulin and RDP next season. Which means Poulin and Montoya, since RDP will be in the injury ward.

Give Matt Moulson 19 points in the 22 games since he signed his contract.

John Tavares will get 70 points this year, 80 next. Mark it.

My THN column yesterday featured Jordan Staal and why he is an excellent buy-low candidate. He made me look good with another two points last night.

Jeff Carter has 41 points in his last 41 games.

This Brendan Morrison injury is helping Mikael Backlund. He saw 18 minutes of ice time last night and has points in three of his last four.

Has anyone seen 20 games of domination followed by 20 games of sheer uselessness to the extreme that we’ve seen from Sergei Kostitsyn? He has two points in his last 13 games.

Since the night of the trade deadline, Anze Kopitar has 12 points in eight games. Dustin Penner’s enjoying that ride!

Tomas Plekanec left last night’s game with a lower body injury.

In keeping with my love of agitators in the game of hockey, here are the Top 10. Part 1:

And Part 2 – and sorry, but nobody touches Sean Avery. TSN knew that it would be a political hot potato making him No.1. Love Barnaby though:

Hit on Eriksson:

Heatley elbow on Ott:
