The Detroit Free Press is reporting no suspension for Todd Bertuzzi. Well…

The Blues have activated Vladimir Sobotka from injured reserve, and Andy Strickland reports that Oshie has been suspended by the team for two games. No further details given.

Sooo is Teemu Selanne going to start aging soon?

Sooo is Nicklas Lid- oh never mind.

Selanne, by the way, had he not missed those eight or nine games, would have around 85 points right now and sit sixth in NHL scoring. Selanne had five points last night. Lidstrom’s goal made him the first 60-point 40-year-old defenseman in history.

Last night I had my first baseball auction draft with the gang at DobberBaseball. Very interesting. I’ve managed to compete with them every year so far, so here’s hoping for another good one. Pick up the DobberBaseball Fantasy Guide here.

Speaking of that, in the hockey expert’s league I have clawed my way up to a tie for fifth place, which back in December was my stated goal. Once first is out of reach, all the other spots are just last place in my books. So I had to have a reason to go on, after sitting in 12th place – dead last – on November 24th with just 35 roto points. That’s trades and waiver wire that got me up 31 points and in the hunt for fifth, proving to myself that all is not lost no matter how much you suck heading into December.

Corey Crawford got his 30th win last night. Can we start including him in Calder conversations yet? Or will he need 35? Skinner Schminner.

How’s this for impressive – Wilkes-Barre Scranton set a franchise record for wins with 52. This is despite having their Top 7 scorers in Pittsburgh for a week or so in February, and several of those scorers with the club for a good month.

That guy who made it the “Big 4” back in November, according to many of you, yeah him – that guy who is better than Malkin (again, according to many of you)? He has 12 points in his last 19 games. Not the Big 4. Not the same ballpark at all. Now here’s hoping Malkin – a member of the Big 3 – recovers fully for next year.

Johan Franzen returned to play 18 minutes Monday.

Alex Ovechkin returned to practice yesterday, although I’m sure he’ll sit out another couple of games yet. Jason Arnott was also back in practice and he hopes to be back in the lineup by the weekend.

This morning we will hear word out of St. Louis why TJ Oshie missed practice yesterday. He was not excused from practice – he just didn’t show. Oshie owners are concerned, as he was arrested for disorderly conduct once and being a minor in a bar once. So apparently he does enjoy his wobbly pops. Related?

Chris Vivlamore reports that Jim Slater, Freddy Meyer and Patrice Cormier will not play again this season for the Thrashers.

According to Rich Hammond, the Kings are trying to bring back Brayden Schenn to replace Anze Kopitar. However, the CHL and NHL rules governing this become more strict after March 1. So the Kings would need three more injuries to take place for the emergency recall to be allowed. Seems doubtful.

After tallying nine points in three playoff games, Rangers prospect Christian Thomas was named OHL player of the week for the third time this year.

The Penguins have signed undrafted college forward Paul Thompson to an ELC. He has decent size and tallied 91 points in his last 78 games (two seasons) for U. of New Hampshire. I would use this as a frame of reference – last season Bobby Butler, his teammate, had 53 points as a 23-year-old. This year, Paul Thompson has 52 points as a 23-year-old in the same system. Thompson is a little bigger. I think this is something that needs to be stuck on my radar, no question about it.

Interesting quote from Mike Comrie: “I’m skating pain-free right now,” he said. “I haven’t done that in a few years. I feel like I’m able to skate hard again.” I would be lying if I didn’t say this piqued my interest in him as a dirt cheap acquisition this summer (if he stays in Pittsburgh).

Heavy. Weight. Tilt. Koci vs. Parros:

Todd Bertuzzi will get suspended for this, come on:
