The 2011 DobberBaseball fantasy guide is out!   I'll do my best to open up the fantasy mailbag tomorrow evening./   Try your hand at naming the "farm team" section on the DobberHockey forums. We have had some great talent step up with their contributions since putting this idea into place a few months ago! [...]

A tough decision can be made easier with these charts showing you the best five and worst five schedules for upcoming seven-day periods. Some of you used them last year but for the benefit of new readers here is a refresher. The number next to the team indicates the 'multiplier' to use on a player's point-per-game pace to give you an idea how many points to expect for that week.

Saturday’s Picks – March 19th

Since the format change I’ve managed to tie my mutts after three Saturday’s, as we share identical 7-11 records.  You could say I have nine wins since I did have the Sharks and Hawks winning, but in a shootout. It’s amazing what you’ll try to squeeze out of a losing record! On a positive note, I’ve gone from one win, to two, and last week saw four winners.  Could have been six for six, but Boston let me down in overtime, and even though I knew the Hawks would win for some reason I thought the Leafs would manage to get a point.  Oh well.  Some great playoff races are happening around the league and many hearts will be broken. Quite a few games on the schedule so let’s get right to it.

Top 10 Keeper League Defensive Prospects

The first edition of this list was put together last August, and it is something I am going to update at least once each season. I have a few general rules when it comes to building a team in a fantasy hockey keeper league. One of the more important ones is to not plan beyond a two or three year window. You are not building a real NHL club, and too often I see poolies place too much of an emphasis on youth and prospects instead of trying to add players who could help them win now. Using this rule, take a look at your team(s). Can you realistically say you will have a shot at winning the league at some point within the next two or three seasons? If not, time to scrap the rebuild and start adding proven NHL talent.

I know Jonathan Quick is having a spectacular season, but games like last night must plant a tiny seed of doubt in the eyes of LA fans and management. Quick was horrible last year during the playoffs (to be fair, he had played over 70 regular season games and was completely spent).   If [...]

Oldie Goldie says: Here's my scouting report on Ray Emery's win last night. Hope you all heeded my advice from Monday's School of Block. A bit risky, but he makes a great buy-low, sell-high option.       Jacob Markstrom is out for the season after undergoing knee surgery. He will be healthy well before training camp in [...]

A few weeks ago, the Top 10 was a hot topic, With every following report, there is sure to be heated debates in regards to the positioning of players. Excluded from this list are the popular young guns on Entry Level Contract (ELC). Some of them could have definitely made an argument to be in the Top 20, but instead, they will be showcased in their own Roto Keeper Monsters, G/SOG Young Guns Edition.

Rick Nash has gone 10 games without a goal. That's the third longest of his career, according to the Dispatch.   Dany Heatley could be suspended for this elbow on Steve Ott - I added the clip below.   With Jason ARnott out for a week or two, along with Backstrom, Marcus Johansson is [...]
