Happy Easter! My daughter, now two years, four months, gets to enjoy the chocolates/egg hunt for the first time. Lookin forward to it.

Jason Pominville will miss Game 6 with a leg injury.

The story of the night was Jonathan Quick stopping 51 of 52 shots – the Kings were outshot 19-6 in the first period, yet held a 3-0 lead! And then after the Sharks outshot the Kings in the second period, they hammered them 18-4 in the third. But Quick said no. Awesome performance.

Antti Niemi got the hook after stopping just one shot out of four to kick off the game.

I've noticed that Teddy Purcell's ice time has crept upwards and his production is back. Three assists Saturday, and four in two games averaging 15 minutes.  The three games prior his ice time was closer to 11 minutes per. It seems as though he got 51 points this season despite a limited role. I wonder if he would thrive if they took the limits off. One hurtle he would need to overcome though is inconsistency.

Steve Downie with nice fantasy numbers – two points, plus-1, 12 PIM

Simon Gagne has 24 points in his last 18 contests.

After just one point in the series (four games), Steven Stamkos broke loose with three in the 8-2 whitewash.

Jordan Staal has just two points and is a minus-2 in the series. Not what I expected from a guy who I thought was more clutch. Does he really miss Matt Cooke that much? But Copper 'n Blue explains this with statistics outlining how often he starts in his own zone (i.e. takes defensive faceoffs).

Tyler Kennedy has 23 shots in the five games this series. Eight on Saturday alone.

Fleury's job is safe, despite giving up four goals on 14 shots and getting the hook. Brent Johnson gave up four goals on 11 shots.

John Tortorella let his personal feelings about Sean Avery affect his coaching decisions. Avery was the best Ranger in at least two of the games. There is no reason why his ice time should have averaged 12 minutes per game, or that he was scratched.

Alexander Semin had four points in the series, doubling what he did a year ago in the first round in fewer games. And kudos to Mike Green for picking up a point in each of the five games.

Michal Neuvirth: 0.946 and 1.38 in the postseason.

Carey Price and Tim Thomas combined for 93 saves on 96 shots in nearly 90 minutes of game time Saturday.

The Habs scratched Benoit Pouliot. It doesn't look good for him getting re-signed. Total collapse after January.

Malkin is back doing some light skating. No chance of coming back in the playoffs, though I'd reserve judgment if the team gets well into the third round.

Brent Seabrook has taken some of that magic concussion spray that teams only seem to find in late April or May, and we could see him in Game 6.

Ovechkin back to his old tricks:
