The Avs have signed Milan Hejduk to a one-year deal worth $2.6 million. Look for a 65-game season and probably coming in around 55 points.

Montreal prospect Louis Leblanc will miss the next four to six months due to shoulder surgery. Leblanc is ranked 28 on my prospects list and is featured in a profile in the Fantasy Prospects Report. He was not expected to make the team in the fall anyway.

From what I’ve heard from Darren Dreger, and what I’ve been reading this morning – Winnipeg should be the favorites to land Atlanta, but things would have to move pretty quickly. Now that Phoenix will stay put for another year, Atlanta is the team most likely to move. If Atlanta moves to Winnipeg, they would then go to the Western Conference. That would move Detroit to the East. Winnipeg would knock Colorado out of that division and into the Pacific. That, in turn, would push Dallas into the Central to take Detroit’s spot. Detroit going in Atlanta’s spot certainly ups the ante for Washington and Tampa, making that division one of the toughest in hockey.

Bob McKenzie tweets that Alexei Yemelin will be in Montreal’s top six in the fall “unless something goes radically amiss”. Yemelin looks like a potential 40-point, 100-PIM rearguard and at 25 the wait on that may not be too long. But I would pencil him in for 25 and 70 just to be conservative for 2011-12.

Arguably the game with the most drama last night. I would love to be a Detroit fan and at that game. The stress, the ups, the downs and then to come away with the win. The crowd was just nutty!

Jiri Hudler and Mike Modano got into the lineup, yet Hudler did not appear on the game stats as of 12:40. I wanted to analyze his ice time, but there was no number 26. Weird. He is there on the scoresheet for a penalty, but not on the roster chart.

What's great about players like Joe Pavelski – even when they slump, they'll still pick up a point here and there. A slump for Pavelski would be three points in seven games, with points evenly spread out. A slump for a Kostitsyn would be zero points in seven games. Pavelski led all Sharks – forwards and d-men – in ice time (24:11).

For the third time in four games, Antti Niemi faced at least 40 shots.

Darren Helm – 30-point player in the regular season, 50-point player in the postseason. Exactly. You can go up and down the lineups and pull out players like this, slap them together, and win 10 Cups in a row – you start with Kesler, then add Helm, Ward, Downie, Datsyuk, Thomas, Subban – these guys would rather die than lose.

Marleau – six games without a point now. Gutless?

Not even the return of Matt Halischuk, Jon Blum and Blake Geoffrion could help Milwaukee win their Game 7 against the Houston Aeros. Casey Wellman scored the winner and Houston will now take on Hamilton. Charlotte and Binghamton are the other two AHL teams left.

The following Flyers need surgery: Mike Richards (wrist), Meszaros (wrist), Kris Versteeg (sports hernia), Mike Leighton (hip) and Blair Betts (finger). Chris Pronger will also probably need surgery. Jeff Carter and Scott Hartnell are being evaluated for possible hip surgery. But it's goaltending that caused them to be swept? Really?

Look at Joe Thornton cry innocent – he gets a taste of his own medicine. See what happens when you dive? Karma brings it right back to you:

Here was the dive I was referring to. I know I showed it before, but it was so ridiculous I have to make sure you've seen it:

The game winner – listen to the crowd. They are already on a high two minutes after the tying goal, and now this:
