Absolutely huge news for Hiller owners and Duck fans – the Swiss star is expected to start skating in July.
Solid read on Chris Tanev, Vancouver’s poised rookie on defense.
Sorry for the light ramblings today. Very late night and early morning doesn’t make for a great combination. Some fantastic stuff on the way here – contests, some great columns for the summer months, UFA previews, and more.
I’ll do my best to have a mailbag open tonight as well.
Both Luongo and Thomas were spectacular last night. By far the best game of the series.
Boston’s best forward was far and away Rich Peverley. Poised and creative with the puck, he seemed to be involved in every scoring chance they had.
I have made this point before – how many teams are kicking themselves for passing on Dennis Seidenberg? Playing huge minutes, shutting down the past two Art Ross winners, making solid breakout passes, and playing with a consistent physical edge. I am impressed.
A solid read on DobberHockey favorite Nathan Gerbe.
The Puck Rakers blog breaks down the potential Carter-for-Voracek trade. I think it could benefit both sides, obviously. I'm not sure Carter is the right guy to play with Nash, though, as both are shoot first players.
From the above post: "The 2011-12 destination for left winger Nikita Filatov is hardly decided yet. But, as of today, the Blue Jackets expect Filatov to attend training camp in September, to compete for a roster spot in Columbus."
I wouldn't at all be surprised to see Filatov traded out of Columbus at some point over the summer.
