Dobber Sports

Rich Peverley was fantastic all series long. I wonder if he has a top six role in Boston next season? Jordan Caron will probably replace the retiring Recchi on the right side.
What happened to the Sedins? They got shut down by a fantastic goalie and two fantastic defensemen. Sidney Crosby was shut down two years ago by Lidstrom, and Toews was shut down last year by Pronger. Great players aren’t always able to dominate.
I don’t buy the argument that the physicality was too much for them. Boston played them perfectly – what you need to do is clog up the areas around the Sedin without the puck, and limit their options for those quick passes and cycles.
Colorado has signed Joakim Lindstrom. Lindstrom played in 2008-09 with Phoenix (20 points in 44 games) before returning to Europe for two seasons.
He had an impressive 2010-11 campaign in the SEL, recording 60 points and 134 PIM in 54 games. The next highest PIM total on his team was 56.
Injury news coming out – Ryan Kesler torn groin, Alex Edler broken fingers, Christian Ehrhoff separated shoulder, Chris Higgins broken foot. Dan Hamhuis groin/abdominal tears. Guess he won’t be hipchecking Milan Lucic again…
Unsurprisingly, Mark Recchi announced his retirement. Three cups and a ton of points – not a bad career.
Dobber – re: the Prospects Report update – our fate is now in the hands of one Matthew Bugg. When he revises his Mock based on the final order and adds a third round, this can be re-released. Today? Tomorrow? Soon!
Toronto! In 24 hours – come celebrate the launching of Dobber Sports with me, Justin Goldman, the Goalie Post’s Jeff Hillen and fellow hockey fans! If you don’t like talking about your fantasy hockey team over beer and nachos, then don’t come! But I’d like to meet you and see how I’ve helped/hurt your fantasy squad this year. Sports Centre Cafe at Yonge and St. Clair at 6pm on into the night. Be there!
Angus here – survived the riots. Downtown Vancouver was as crazy as it looked.
More ramblings coming in the morning.
Full marks to the Bruins – earned the win. Brad Marchand was phenomenal all series long.
Tim Thomas of course was well deserving of the Conn Smythe.
Injury updates are trickling in – Ryan Kesler had a torn groin and a torn hip labrum.
