Interesting stuff in the kurtenblog, including some Crosby/Penguin facts:

Crosby had a 25-game scoring streak from Nov. 5 to Dec. 28 in which he recorded 50 points. 26 goals, 24 assists. Fifty freaking points. The next longest streak was Ilya Kovalchuk’s (14 points in 12 games) and the next highest output was Corey Perry (22 points over 10 games.)

Pittsburgh had a 12-game win streak, the NHL’s longest. The next closest was Washington, with nine.

Crosby had 66 points in 41 games. Prorated over a full season that’s 132 points, which would’ve been the best output of his career and the highest since Mario Lemieux’s 161. /end

*I promise to make Wednesday an Ovechkin-filled day. I’ll pump the next tier of players – the Sedins and Stamkos – next week.

Jack Hillen signed a two-way deal, Monday, with the team that would best give him an opportunity due to their lack of defensemen. I'm talking, of course, about the Nashville Predators. And I'm also being sarcastic.

Danny Syvret has signed with the Blues. As the No.9 defenseman there, that puts him about one slot below where Hillen is with the Preds. I can't believe Syvret is only 26, he's been around for so long.

Ottawa prospect Mark Stone is having a strong camp for Hockey Canada, making a case for himself in terms of getting on the WJC team. Hey, you never know with this high-scoring, but grossly ignored/brushed-aside prospect. I remember Corey Perry had a ton of question marks about him, not just about skating. And, uh, I think he answered those questions.

Here's some great insight on the Teemu Selanne decision, and the injuries/issues that he is facing (and thus the reason for the delay).

Chris Pronger is targeting a return for the season opener. It's cool that he calls himself a "Band-Aid" in what is clearly a shout out to DobberHockey. Really.

Top 10 Datsyuk plays – the dangle at No.1 was just ridiculous:

Elizabeth and Lewis reunite to bring you all the latest fantasy news and strategy, such as how our siblings would fare if called on to fill our roles like Owen Sillinger did for bro Cole. Injuries and outjuries include a pair of goalies returning to their teams in Ingram and Shesterkin, as well as how Monahan’s wrist injury opens the door for big minutes for Fantilli. Finally, the pair touch on Voronkov and PLD’s hot streaks, and discuss John Carlson’s rollercoaster in light of Chychrun’s production.

Keeping Karlsson: Tuch Hunch

On this edition of the Keeping Karlsson Fantasy Hockey Podcast mega-show, Elan and Brian tour every team, ranking a slate of the least bad goalies, noticing the wind in some Red Wings’ and Stars’ sails, dangling snoozer status above a pair of commonly rostered power-play quarterbacks, and rushing or strolling, accordingly, to some skaters on the up and up.
