My Draft Buddy iPhone app…updated Thursday (and iTunes will process (i hope) the update today) – loaded with notes now.

There will be a big announcement on Monday as DobberHockey shakes the fantasy hockey world once again. The beneficiary? YOU. Stay tuned…

I never put this together, but browsing through the hockey world I can't believe I missed the obvious Dustin Byfuglien -Kyle Wellwood- donut jokes. Those things write themselves.

Spector goes over some rumors and while I'm not on board with the Hockey Buzz one (because they do so many, who knows which ones actually ever come close), I am intrigued by the other one. The one where the Avalanche send Paul Stastny to the Preds. Richardson pooh-poohs the idea, and he's probably right, but I don't think it's THAT far-fetched. I don't believe the Predators need to keep Pekka Rinne. Not with Anders Lindback there. And in case they haven't noticed (they have), every goalie they touch is gold. Vokoun, Mason, even ECHLer Dan Ellis – all become top goaltenders in this system. I think the Preds recognize that they have some pretty talented wingers, but their centermen are at best second liners. Paul Stastny would be a great fit. They would need to give back one of their other centermen in the deal (Ryan O'Reilly's brother Cal?) and there are tons of youngsters on the roster and in the system to add to that and sweeten the pot. Anyway, I don't get to play the rumor game very often, but if I see something that kind of makes sense, I'll put in my two cents. Especially on slow news days.

The prospect tournament in Oshawa kicks off today with Pittsburgh and Ottawa in the afternoon, following by Toronto and Chicago in the evening. I'll be checking out the latter contest and will share my notes with you Sunday.

Speaking of Chicago, they have acquired Jonathan Toews' brother David. He has been profiled in the Fantasy Prospects Report before, but not this past one as his NHL odds are slim with more of a checking-line upside. I have ranked 441 on my fantasy prospects list.

Chris Pronger was back skating for the first time in over four months. He is probably going to return some time in October, but it may be earlier that month than we think…

Terry Murray hints that Simon Gagne will be paired with Mike Richards. I'm betting that Justin Williams is on the other side. I really like Dustin Brown on Anze Kopitar's line. That means Dustin Penner and Scott Parse compete for the top line? Lot at stake there, but put me down for having a hunch on the dark horse Parse…just not enough to actually draft accordingly.

Awesome – two rookie games between LA and Phoenix next week will be streamed at lakings.com. Wednesday and Thursday, be sure to check them out.

Adrian Dater reports that Kyle Cumiskey has signed a one-year contract. The deal is a two-way pact – I'm sure that was the delay. I'm finding a lot of young players are getting screwed this way, as teams elect to go with older, sometimes inferior players.

Despite not having signed, Josh Bailey participated in the Islanders' informal skate Friday. He's confident a contract will be signed.
