Agree or disagree with Ken Campbell (I often disagree, for what it’s worth), the comments that he and many popular writers on the ‘net are often a disgrace. People go over the top with their personal, negative ripping and forget that writers are real people who just happen to make public their opinions because it is their job. It’s okay to disagree, but some of this stuff is just too far. Kudos to him for responding and making light of it. Again I am thankful that 99% of DobberHockey’s comments are constructive and rarely get personal. Thank you!

Joel Quenneville on Michael Frolik: "Since the first time he hit the ice this year in camp he's looked like there's a real committed purpose to have a big year. His numbers haven't been reflective of how good he's been for us this year.''

So far Lubomir Visnovsky and Cam Fowler have combined for one point in 10 games (and minus-5). I don't think the return, Friday, of Kurtis Foster will help matters. But matters should help themselves within a week or two. These two should each be up around the 50-point mark at season's end, but that won't start until the big line gets hot. And you know that's gonna happen.

Add Tyler Kennedy to the list of the concussed. Steve McIntyre has taken his spot.

Matt Niskanen is from Minnesota and he has four goals and six points in 13 games against the Wild.

Peter Mueller will probably return Thursday and was officially listed as a healthy scratch. I don't have any insider information, but it sounds to me like he had a headache and/or some symptoms – just like everyone gets from time to time – and rather than mess with it, he played it safe and waited it out. Because I didn't see (nor hear of) any bonks to his noggin' lately.

Michal Neuvirth is out with a bruised foot. A minor injury that will cost him a couple of games I am sure. Last year nagging little injuries cost him games in three different points of the season, which is why I have Holtby getting into a couple of games this year.

The Kings practiced with these line combos yesterday: Kopitar with Gagne and Williams (that one seems to be a set line); Richards with Penner and Brown; Stoll with Richardson and Moreau; Lewis with Hunter and Clifford. Parse, Fraser and Westgarth are the extras. But then Penner (knee contusion – day-to-day) left practice after 20 minutes – and once again, an opportunity arises for Scott Parse.

Last year, Scott Parse took advantage of every opportunity. This year, it's like he's not taking advantage of any.

Andy McDonald has been placed on IR for his concussion. Steen, D'Agostini and Grachev all benefit. That's two concussions in 10 months for Mr. McDonald.

I'm still waiting for Ryan Nugent-Hopkins to start showing me why so many had him pegged for junior this year. Because all I'm seeing is one of the best players in the NHL.
