Brandon Yip expects to be back in the Colorado lineup this week, but Peter Mueller is now targetting Friday for a return. Nothing before then.

We're at the point now where we will be hearing about this prior to each game, and given that he is the No.1 player on my Keeper League List I will be sharing the news (and non-news) with you as well. Sidney Crosby is not playing Tuesday. Next game/update is Thursday against Tampa Bay… and then Saturday against Florida. The next time the Pens have two days off in a row is November 27 and 28. They play every second day until then.

With two points last night, Erik Cole is now on pace to… still fall short of 40 this year. But he played a strong game and saw a season high 19:28, so that's a promising trend.

I don't believe PK Subban is suffering from a sophomore jinx. Last year he had seven points in his first 17 games. This year he has six points in his first 17 games. This team is not scoring a lot of goals, so relatively speaking, his percentage of points versus the team offense is probably where it should be. I'm not saying that six points is not disappointing. No, he should have 10 at this stage. But I am not discouraged with him in the least.

Derek Roy has 10 points in his last six games. Luke Adam has two in his last six (and is minus-5). When one line rolls, the others slow down.

Jhnoas Enroth remains undefeated. Besides being 6-0-0, he is also fourth in the league in GAA and SP.

Tyler Myers was a healthy scratch. This is a direct result of unnecessary spending – the team did not need Ville Leino (they still don't) nor Christian Ehrhoff. They could have saved that money and have the same record – or better – at this point. Then they could spend the money via a trade and get better players. Nothing against Ehrhoff, who has been fine. But his presence has rolled by the ice time for other people and the domino effect there is a decline in their play. And now Myers is in the press box.

In his third game back from injury, Chris Pronger finally got back on the board – three times. One assist was on the power play. Claude Giroux, the next superstar, also tallied three points.

Scott Hartnell has just one point in his last five games, so the 'sell high' window has closed. You know what you're getting with this guy, so dreaming that he would get 80 points was just that – a dream.

Matt Read saw 15:22 and that was enough time for him to tally two more points. Another game like that and he's back in the Calder conversation that he left when he sustained that UBI a couple weeks ago.

The Hurricanes are losing. Often. So if you're going to lose anyway, why not give the new guys some love? What's the worst that could happen – you lose by more? And at best, you may find yourself a gem. I mean really, Zach Boychuk seeing 3:54 and Zac Dalpe at 2:41… that's not even worth the plane tickets you bought for them. Keep them in the minors, or call them up and use them properly. To be fair, Boychuk saw 15 first-line minutes the game prior. But either send him back down, or play him.

With two more points last night, Tim Stapleton now has four in his last four games. His ice time is still hovers around the 10-minute mark (eight last night), but the Jets seem to be starting to lean on him more. You need a temporary guy as a depth center, look no further.

Looks like MA Bergeron has hit the wall finally. Just a point in his last four, although his plus/minus is hanging in there.

This TSN story here bugs me. Two reasons – Brendan Shanahan going into the Hall of Fame first ballot is not "set in stone". He's a strong contender, but he doesn't deserve to be in the same sentence as Joe Sakic. Joe Sakic going in right away is "set in stone". Shanahan is not. In fact, if you go by my criteria that I floated last year – the one that would eliminate a good 50% of the fellas already in there – then Shanahan wouldn't get in at all. My idea – in a given two-year span, was he ever a Top 3 forward in the NHL, or a Top 2 defenseman, or a Top 2 goaltender? If yes, he's in. If not, he's not. Forget the stats. This is all that should be on the ballot. And Shanahan may have ranked as high as fifth best among forwards at his peak, he never cracked the Top 3. Sakic did. Pavel Bure did. Alex Mogilny did. Eric Lindros did. Mats Sundin did.

And that brings me to my second complaint about the piece – Alexander Mogilny wasn't mentioned. You know, if that guy played only 200 games in the league and got 20 points, he still should get HHOF consideration for what he did for hockey. The barriers he broke. But he scored 76 goals in one season and 473 in his career.

The Kings have recalled Andrei Loktionov. He has 14 points in 17 games to lead Manchester.

It looks like Ilya Kovalchuk will be back soon. Of course, I didn't dress him this week. He could play tonight.

Boston prospect Ryan Spooner had 10 points in three OHL games last week and was named player of the week. He'll get a long look in the fall, but his making the team would depend on how much room they will have for him. Traditionally, they don't seem to leave more than one spot open each year.

The Isles have recalled Nino Niederreiter. He had four points in six AHL games and was a plus-4. Very excited to see how he does, and I'm excited to activate him for Friday.

As long as Mark Letestu lines up with Ryan Johansen and Vinny Prospal, he has some fantasy value. For the time being, the line is really clicking and now that Jeff Carter is back, the team can actually roll a couple of decent lines.

It looks like Slava Voynov will be recalled, as Alec Martinez is out of the lineup with an injury. I kept Voynov on my reserve in one league, because I knew he would be back – and I know he produces – and I did not want to re-bid for him. So this is beauty news for me. Voynov will get points, mark it!

Tim Connolly is back in practice and while he won't be playing Tuesday (probably), he could be back for the following contest.

Milan Hejduk has been named captain of the Avalanche. What that says to me is that he plans to stick around for another year beyond this one. Otherwise, why would he agree to be captain of a team for four months?
