Angus here – my fantasy mailbag is open for business. Fire away!

You know who is quietly kicking ass? David Perron. He has 10 points in 10 games this season.

Jamie Benn is on a six-game points streak and has eight in that span.

Anton Stralman has four points and is plus-9 in his last four games. His ice time is up over 20 minutes a game now and if you haven't already – get on this guy.

Jarod Spurgeon left the game after taking a hit from behind from Cody McLeod. He is not in practice today.

From Jeff Angus via Twitter: "Chris Higgins on pace for 24 goals, 55 points, plus-17 rating, 191 SOG."

What a great team – if the Canucks can have a guy like Andrew Ebbett to jump in for eight minutes and score two goals, that's pretty impressive. And that's what Ebbett has been seeing this season in his eight games played. He has four points despite seeing about 46 minutes total.

Corey Crawford gets a couple of bounces. After Ray Emery gets pulled, of course they're going to go back to Crawford – and it's up to him to take advantage. His test? To stop the offensively starved Canadiens from scoring and then stop the woeful Columbus Blue Jackets. Mission accomplished and this is precisely the roll that he needed. Now back to full confidence, I think he'll go on a bit of a run here. Sorry Emery owners, party is over – but in a month or two he'll elbow his way back into the picture mark my words.

Viktor Stalberg had his third straight two-point game and he has 21 points in his last 27 games. He's also sitting at plus-12 right now.

Shea Weber is out with an upper body injury. The Preds recalled Ryan Ellis who saw over 18 minutes (and 5:31 on the PP). Ellis was pointless, minus-1 with three shots and a penalty. No word on how long Weber is out, but he had left practice early Monday.

I rarely go to Bleacher Report, but got suckered into a link this morning. How does that site get the traffic it does? They give you four paragraphs and then you have to click to the next page. They tell you nothing that you can't find elsewhere (i.e. I don't visit the site). And leave the word "intact" intact please. "In tact" doesn't make any sense.

It's not much, but it's something – Patrik Berglund has nine points in his last 12 games.

No Sheldon  Souray and Goligoski gets a point. Man, I was certain that Souray would help, not hinder Goligoski. But I'm starting to see differently.

Richard Bachman got the hook but did not take the loss. His numbers 5-2-0, 2.76 and 0.912 are decent, but not enough to pose any kind of threat to Kari Lehtonen. I think we'll see Lehtonen next game.

Cam Ward with a goal! Video below.

Anaheim prospect Nick Bonino has played at least 13 minutes in each of his last three games. In the other three games that he played this season in the NHL, he didn't see as many minutes. The new coach likes him – two points in three games and plus-2. He was on the second PP unit Monday.

Jamie McGinn has nine points in his last 12 games. He's shooting a lot more and showing his 25-goal, 45-point potential. He was always a big goal scorer in junior on Logan Couture's line. But in San Jose he's been playing with Michal Handzus and Torrey Mitchell.

Martin Hanzal missed last night's contest after leaving the prior game in the third period. He was slashed across the face with a high stick.

David Rundblad continues to get scratched. Four of five games with his new team, despite assisting in his only game with them. You know – the Coyotes need an offensive center, not another puck-moving defensemen. Did they acquire Rundblad because he was the best player available? And now they are using that "BPA" asset to get the center they need? Just spitballin'

Mike Smith is out with a strained groin – placed on the IR. As I noted last week, I think you can expect a Kari Lehtonen timeline here. Jason LaBarbera has lost two in a row, but I think it would take two more losses before they would consider Curtis McElhinney.

Edmonton rearguard Corey Potter understandably took three games to get his timing and comfort level back after returning from a sprained ankle, but now he has three points in his last two games.

Here is a good clip of this one, several of the clips didn't show Ward touching it but I found this one that shows Cam Ward touched the puck last for the Hurricanes when they scored…
