My lengthy piece on Alex Burrows is up at the Canucks Army. Put a lot of time into it. Hope some of you enjoy (I know not all will).

Andrew Ebbett scored the OT winner, and he now has three goals in his past two games.

Roberto Luongo was fantastic last night against the Sharks, especially late in the game. He stopped 33 of 35 shots, including probably a half-dozen quality scoring chances in the final frame.

Starting next week, my 15 Points to Consider column is moving from monthly to weekly. I enjoy writing it too much to wait 30 days between posts. Still deciding on which day I will be publishing it each week…

I'll weigh in with my thoughts on Crosby during next week's 15 PTC – how to value him in your pool, if I think he'll ever come back, and more.

His numbers aren't great, but Ondrej Pavelec has been so good for the Jets lately. Such a fun goalie to watch play.

I wouldn't be selling high on Tomas Fleischmann – he is for real. He's always been a really talented player, but was buried in the Washington system. His injury issues appear to be in the past, as he takes daily medication to take care of any potential blood clots. If you can get a lot for him, by all means shop away, but he isn't a guy I'd be actively looking to trade away.

Boston is 21-1-2 in their last 24 games. Wow.

Tuukka Rask has allowed one goal in his last three starts (not in each one, but combined). He could very likely be the best goalie to own in all pool formats once Thomas retires (still a few years away, though).

Strong words from Jagr as he gears up for a return to Pittsburgh.

"To be honest with you, not really. I didn't think they wanted me," said Jagr. "Truly, I don't think the management, the coaches wanted me to be there. When you look back to the articles over there, what happened one month before I was a free agent — and I didn't even talk to anybody."

Caught a bit of the Minnesota/Nashville game (wanted to get a look at Roman Josi). Picked a good game to watch.

Josi was fantastic for the Preds – he ended up playing almost 25 minutes, finishing with no points, two shots on goal, and a regular PK shift. He has lots of offensive upside, but I wouldn't expect him to produce at a relevant rate until he sees consistent PP time. Really good and really underrated young defenseman.

Craig Smith has eight points in December, but only one goal.

Kyle Brodziak has one point in his last six games. Unsurprisingly cooling off. Time to dump to the waiver wire once again.

Shocked that Cody McLeod wasn't suspended for his boarding major on Jared Spurgeon. About as blatant as a hit from behind can get.

Great game from Pekka Rinne – he's been in the skids a bit lately but is easily one of the top three goalies in the league. 34 stops on 35 shots.

The Dallas Stars have waived Andrew Raycroft, who had his back up gig stolen away by Richard Bachman. Thanks again for the advice, Mr. Goldman!

No news is bad news regarding Jeff Skinner – no update on his timeline as he recovers from a concussion.

The Kings blew out Chicago last night. Well, not really, they won 2-0. Considering how bad their offense has been this season, I'd consider a two-goal win a blow out.

Tomas Vokoun played great in his first start in six games. He stopped 31 of 32 shots New York fired his way.

Ryan Callahan is a beauty hockey player. He had four blocked shots after one period alone, and one of them was an assist on Brandon Dubinsky's goal. The prototypical captain.

Carl Hagelin was a minus-3 in only 12 minutes of ice time – not a great game for the rookie.

Almost half of Brad Richards' 19 minutes of ice time was on the PP – which makes his no points and minus-3 rating even worse.

There were rumours swirling (maybe not swirling, but drifting around at least) that the Caps were going to make a move if they had a bad game – Semin scored twice, Ovechkin had two helpers, and the team got great defensive efforts from most of the roster.

Perhaps trade rumours should be leaked more often?

Karl Alzner has 12 PIM in 34 games. Not good for poolies, but really impressive considering the minutes he puts up each game.

With Gagne out, Loktionov saw time on the left wing on line two with Mike Richards. He didn't last long there, playing less than 10 minutes.

Mike Richards and his son Brad combined for 11 shots on goal.

Brandon Pirri played, but only nine minutes. I'll have more on him in my 15 PTC next week. Has some upside, but Chicago needs an established second line center.

Great games from both goalies – 38 save shutout for Quick, while Crawford allowed two on 38. Crawford has played really well – he isn't handing the reigns over to Ray Emery willingly.

Speaking of trade rumours – how much longer can the bleeding go on in Buffalo? The Sabres dropped another game after putting up only one goal against the Devils.

Tomas Vanek scored the only goal and has nine points in his last six games – not slowing down yet. He's done the quick start in the past, but this season he is looking more consistent with his effort deeper into the season.

Luke Adam saw only 13 minutes of ice time, but he did have three shots on goal. Brad Boyes saw almost 19 minutes, but had only one shot. Buffalo needs to shake things up – that roster has too much talent from top to bottom to continue struggling.

Zack Kassian and Jason Pominville had five shots apiece to lead the team.

Henrique, Zajac, and Elias all saw between 18:50 and 20:00 of ice time. Will be interesting to see how the ice time is divided up when Jacob Josefson returns to the lineup.

Adam McQuaid is a scary, scary dude – pretty good defenseman, too:

No suspension for this?
