Fantasy Impact: The Nashville Predators have acquired center Paul Gaustad and a fourth-round draft from the Buffalo Sabres for a first-round draft pick.

The Predators get: a big centerman who is one of the best face-off men in the league. The Preds sit 23rd in that category, so obviously this is an underrated – very strong – move.
The Sabres get: a great draft pick.
Fantasy Players Impacted: This opens up ice time, particularily on the PP where Gaustad was sometimes used for his size. So any forward with offensive skill who was underused – such as Nate Gerbe, Tyler Ennis, Luke Adam, Zach Kassian, etc – will benefit. This acquisition will hurt the likes of Nick Spaling and possibly Craig Smith.
