Sharks Acquire Tyler Kennedy

Fantasy Impact: The San Jose Sharks have acquired forward Tyler Kennedy from the Pittsburgh Penguins for a second round pick in the 2013 draft
The Penguins get: A high pick for a player they didn’t really use last season.
The Sharks get: A solid two-way forward who slots in on the third line, but who can sub in on the second line for short stretches. He is a restricted free agent.
Fantasy Players Impacted: Kennedy is better off. His ice time was waning (even with players leaving, that won’t change). He’ll even get a sniff of PP time now, but bottom line a 50-point season will be a struggle.
His departure paves the way for Beau Bennett, who will be a breakout player in the season ahead – but only if the team walks away from Jarome Iginla. If the Pens sign Iginla, than Bennett is a 35-point player this year.
James Sheppard’s dream of a regular lineup spot has probably died, but nobody was picking him anyway, right?
Fantasy Players this helps, in order:
1. Bennett
2. Kennedy
Fantasy Players this hurts, in order:
1. Sheppard
2. TJ Galiardi
