Alexander Ovechkin is dealing with a minor injury, while Steven Stamkos take part in every drill at practice. Here are more injury updates.

 

EASTERN CONFERENCE

 

Adam McQuaid (leg) still day-to-day with his leg injury. “Injury that’s hard to assess…depends on how he heals”; according to Boston Bruins head coach Claude Julien.


Dougie Hamilton (concussion) took light contact in practice but hasn’t been cleared yet; according to Julien.


Chris Kelly (ankle) practiced on Thursday, but a return date is still unclear.


Matt D'Agostini (upper body) was placed on IR on Tuesday.


Cam Ward (lower body) joined his teammates for the morning skate on Tuesday.


Blake Comeau (knee) took part in morning skate but won't be playing Thursday night.


Jimmy Howard (knee) out at least one week after aggravating knee injury.


Cory Emmerton (finger) is day-to-day after injuring his finger on Saturday.



Pavel Datsyuk (groin) said he feels better and could be back within a week.


Joakim Andersson (lower body) sustained a lower body injury at practice and is day-to-day


Daniel Alfredsson (back) will decide after morning skate on Friday whether he is ready to go, according to Detroit Red Wings GM Ken Holland.


Johan Franzen (concussion) said he had first good day since concussion, no more fogginess. Return date is still uncertain.


Aleksander Barkov (lower body) was held out of the final two periods Tuesday game for precautionary reasons. Florida Panthers head coach Peter Horachek believes the injury is not serious, however Barkov did miss practice on Thursday.


Tomas Kopecky (upper body) missed practice on Thursday.


Mike Mottau (leg) was placed on IR on Monday.


Peter Harrold (foot) returned to practice on Monday and has received full medical clearance.


Travis Hamonic (concussion) is still experiencing concussion symptoms.


Evgeni Nabokov (leg) was on the ice for morning skate on Thursday.


Lubomir Visnovsky (concussion) practiced on Thursday without a non-contact jersey and could return in one week.


Mark Stone (undisclosed) stepped on a puck in practice and lost his balance, he will miss the Ottawa Senators road trip.


Andrew Ebbett (ankle) has been activated off IR on Thursday.

 

Tomas Vokoun (pelvis) skated in full gear on Wednesday but didn't face any shots.

Steve Stamkos (leg) participated in all practice drills on Thursday; he called the session a "big step."


Frazer McLaren (shoulder) will be back with the Toronto Maple Leafs on Friday when they face the Winnipeg Jets.


David Clarkson (elbow) is still about a week away from returning.


Dave Bolland (ankle) still has a way to go despite being able to skate the last few days.


Alexander Ovechkin (lower body) missed practice on Thursday and hasn't yet been ruled out for Friday.


WESTERN CONFERENCE


Sheldon Souray (wrist) had season ending wrist surgery on Friday.


Michael Cammalleri (concussion) skated on his own Thursday morning, his first on-ice workout since concussion.


John Mitchell (illness) is expected to join the Colorado Avalanche at some point on their road trip.


Erik Johnson (back) is a game time decision.


Stephane Robidas (leg) is back on the ice skating but no timetable yet.


Philip Larsen (illness) is feeling better and hopes to get back playing soon.


Nail Yakupov (concussion) and Ales Hemsky (ankle) take part in full practice on Wednesday.


Niklas Backstrom (lower body) and Josh Harding (illness) missed practice on Tuesday.


Mikko Koivu (ankle) says he is progressing ahead of schedule and said that there is no doubt he'll play in the Olympics. He could return to practice next week.


Jared Spurgeon (foot) took part in a light workout on the ice on Wednesday before Minnesota Wild's practice.


Martin Hanzal (lower body) missed last two games and is day-to-day with a lower body injury.


Scott Hannan (head) was on the ice for San Jose Sharks practice on Wednesday.


Logan Couture (hand) is pleased with his progression. He hasn't stickhandled or shot a puck yet but he is ahead of schedule. He is hoping to start practicing in the next week or two.


Maxim Lapierre (lower body) activated off IR on Thursday.


Henrik Sedin (undisclosed) will sit out for a second game.


Mike Santorelli (arm) is getting more opinions on his upper body injury.


Grant Clitsome (back) will miss the remainder of the season after having back surgery.


Paul Postma (leg) practiced on Monday in a regular jersey.
