The latest injury updates to get you ready for the season’s final weekend and your playoff pool draft.

 

Injury info will start becoming more and more vague once the Stanley Cup Playoff start. Here are the latest injury updates with playoffs in mind.


EASTERN CONFERENCE

 

Chris Kelly (undisclosed) is day-to-day with back spasms and is optimistic about being ready for playoffs.

 

Kevan Miller (undisclosed) was on the ice for morning skate and is a game time decision for Thursday.


Jarome Iginla (lower body) was on the ice for morning skate and is a game time decision for Thursday.


Adam McQuaid (quadriceps) skated on Tuesday but there is no timetable for a return after suffering a setback in March.


Dennis Seidenberg (knee) is well ahead of his recovery from surgery could return late in the playoffs. He skated on Tuesday.


Nathan Horton (lower body) was less than convincing when talking to the media about his health after aggravating injury Tuesday night. Now that the Columbus Blue Jackets are a lock for playoffs don't expect him back before the playoffs.


R.J. Umberger (upper body) will miss a couple of weeks after suffering an upper body injury, meaning he will likely miss the start of the first round.


Nick Foligno  (lower body) will miss the rest of the regular season and could return for the playoffs.


Nikita Nikitin (lower body) skated on Sunday but remains day-to-day.


Jonathan Ericsson (finger) was scheduled to miss 4-6 weeks after finger surgery back in the middle of March. He will miss the rest of the regular season and could miss most of the first round.


Henrik Zetterberg (back) is expected to start skating soon and should be ready for the middle of the first round of playoffs.


Stephen Weiss (groin) will not be returning this season after multiple setbacks.


Alex Galchenyuk (lower body) will not be ready in time for start of playoffs and could miss the entire first round.


Lars Eller (flu) missed Wednesday's game due to a virus and is day-to-day.


Travis Moen (concussion) skated for 40 minutes on Wednesday.


Brandon Prust (upper body) skated for 55 minutes on Wednesday and could be ready by the post season.


Ryan McDonagh (shoulder) will be a game time decision on Saturday.


Chris Kreider (hand) skated on Tuesday but there is no timetable for his return.


Marcel Goc (ankle) is iffy for the start of the playoffs.


Evgeni Malkin (foot) has progressed to the point of skating lightly on his own. There is no timetable at this point.


Joe Vitale (middle body) is being re-evaluated.


Chris Conner (hand) returned to practice with the team but there is no time frame on his return yet.


Sami Salo (upper body) will likely not play Thursday according to Tampa Bay Lightning head coach Jon Cooper. It is considered that the injury is not serious.


Ben Bishop (arm) has no structural damage and could play at some point in the first round.


Mike Kostka (concussion) will play Thursday.

 

WESTERN CONFERENCE

Tim Jackman (hand) is out indefinitely with a broken hand.


Frederik Anderson (head) was on the ice with Anaheim Ducks goalie coach Dwayne Roloson on Wednesday. Anaheim Ducks head coach Bruce Boudreau said he might need a couple days or even a week to be game ready.


Mark Fistric (lower body) remains sidelined and isn't improving.


Jonathan Toews (arm) will miss the rest of the regular season but should be 100% for the playoffs.


Patrick Kane (lower body) skated earlier this week and will skate again later this week. He will likely miss the rest of the regular season to rest for the playoffs.


Cory Sarich (back) missed three straight games with a back issue.


Cody McLeod (ankle) results of his MRI showed no major damage and Colorado Avalanche head coach Patrick Roy said he might be back somewhere in the last four games.


Matt Duchene (knee) will likely miss the first round of the playoffs.


P.A. Parenteau (knee) is on schedule to play Friday.


Ray Whitney (lower body) missed his fourth straight game Wednesday night and remains day-to-day.


Aaron Rome (lower body) is still day-to-day.


Rich Peverley (heart) was back on the ice in the final week of March and is attempting to make a comeback.


Robyn Regehr (undisclosed) missed Wednesday's game but there are no further details.


Drew Doughty (upper body) is ready to go once the coaching staff and trainers feel he is ready to go. He would like to get into a game before the playoffs start.


Mikael Granlund (upper body) there is no update from the Minnesota Wild and he is beyond day-to-day.


Darcy Kuemper (upper body) missed his third game and is day-to-day.


Clayton Stoner (knee) could be back in time for the playoffs.


Keith Ballard (groin) is very close to returning according the Wild head coach Mike Yeo.


Jason Zucker (knee) underwent successful surgery and will miss the remainder of the season and playoffs.


Niklas Backstrom (abdomen) underwent successful surgery and will miss the remainder of the season and playoffs.


Josh Harding (MS) is hoping to be back with the boys and is day-to-day but there is no plan yet.


Martin Hanzal (lower body) skated for a few minutes Thursday morning, shook his head and then left the ice. He won't play Thursday and remains day-to-day.


Mike Smith (leg) won't play Thursday and remains day-to-day. He was on the ice for practice on Wednesday but left the ice frustrated.


David Schlemko (foot) is sidelined after blocking a shot and won't play any time soon; according to Phoenix Coyotes head coach Dave Tippet.


Adam Burish (hand) will miss the rest of the regular season but could be back for the playoffs.


Raffi Torres (knee) will be ready for the playoffs.


Tomas Hertl (knee) is a possibility for the playoffs and more information will be known within the next couple of days after medical reports.


David Backes (lower body) will likely miss the last three games of the regular season and should be ok by playoffs. He is wearing a walking boot.


Vladimir Tarasenko (hand) has started full on ice conditioning. Next step will be handling and shooting pucks.
