Fantasy Impact: The Nashville Predators have signed center Olli Jokinen to a one-year deal worth $2.5 million, per Nick Kypreos
The Preds get: a center whom they are miscasting as a first-line guy to play with James Neal. I’m guessing that it takes Coach Peter Laviollette all of three games to figure that out and put Colin Wilson there.
Fantasy Players Impacted: Well, Jokinen gets a boost. After all, this is no longer offense-Siberia with Laviollette at the helm. He’ll get more opportunity and better linemates than he’s had in the last several years. But in the end, he’ll give way to Wilson – provided the fragile Wilson can stay healthy. Mike Fisher could get bumped to the third line though, but I get the sense that all three centers will have fairly even ice time.
