Legwand Signs with Senators

Fantasy Impact: The Ottawa Senators have signed center David Legwand to a two-year deal worth $6 million.
The Senators get: A responsible two-way center who fits nicely on the second line, but could be miscast on the first line.
Fantasy Players Impacted: Legwand is essentially replacing Jason Spezza and Kyle Turris is now the de facto first-line center. Legwand’s arrival does not hurt the fact that Turris will see increased ice time and power-play time. This move does, however, knock J-G Pageau back out of the lineup. Because Mika Zibanejad will be the third-line center and Zack Smith will be on the fourth line. Besides Pageau, Curtis Lazar was also in the hunt for the third-line job. But this move bumps Mika down to that line, and Pageau/Lazar’s chances diminish.
Fantasy Players this helps, in order:
1. Legwand
Fantasy Players this hurts, in order:
1. Pageau
2. Lazar
3. Zibanejad
