Top 50 Left Wingers to Draft – Rotisserie Leagues
Dobber
2014-09-23
Dobber presents to you his Top 50 NHL left wingers to draft in your roto league
The next in my series on ranking players positionally for your roto leagues, I countdown the top left wingers to draft. Taking my projections and the Geek tools, I ran the results and came up with the perfect pre-season ranking for these categories.
Fantasy Hockey Geek takes your categories and roster size and league size and factors all of that in when presenting you with your Draft List. The result is a list that, in the cases of some players in some spots, will surprise you. But that’s what it’s for – if it churned out a list that you’d expect, then what would be the point of fantasy hockey? No, the FHG tool properly weights everything and the list it gives you is very reliable. In one of my three keeper leagues – the one with the most complicated stats – I used the FHG tool for the first time three years ago. I won that year, so I used it again. And again. Three wins in a row out of three times using the tool. Color me sold.

– Hall surprising shoots up to the top in PIM leagues, but he only had 54 hits last season so in leagues with hits as a category sees his value drop to third.
– Being dual-position really helps Neal. Yes, his value has dropped significantly, but don’t overdo your downgrade. He’ll still flirt with 30 goals and his multiple category contributions make him a top player in PIM roto leagues.
– Note that Palat is very valuable in leagues that count HITS, but if it’s PIM then he dips from 27th to 41st.
– Drouin is 51st on the HITS side. Kreider is 52. Both appear on the PIM side. Ennis 52 on the PIM side, but he makes the Top 50 for HITS. With Jenner the difference is more extreme – 67 for PIM and 44 for HITS.
– Biggest names just off both lists – Steve Ott, Valtteri Filppula and Jussi Jokinen
– Dark horse to consider who did not make this list – Jeremy Morin (Chicago). He ranks 66th on the PIM side, 97th on the HITS side. He should get 20 goals, 40 points, 90+ PIM and is a dark horse for 100 hits.
