Top Budget Plays

Goalies

Braden Holtby $6,200– I hesitate to do this and Carolina has been playing well, but with Mitch Korn in the fold along with the coaching style of Barry Trotz, I can't imagine this team will play defense this poorly for long. Holtby is dirt cheap, and I expect a bounce back game here for him. He's the best low priced option for your GPP games. There really is no choice down the board like him.

Centers

Chris VandeVelde $2,500 – He's as cheap as you can get, and is skating on a line with Claude Giroux and Jakub Voracek. The floor here for him is literally zero, but the ceiling is decently high with a punchers chance at a multi-point game. You can't go wrong with this choice if you are looking to combine him with one of his more expensive linemates.

Jori Lehtera $2,900 – I know the Blues are getting healthier but how does this guy carry such a low price tag? He actually dropped since Thursday. He's skating with one of the hottest players on the globe right now and has points in three straight. I don't want to call him a must-play in your cash games, but if you are sniffing around Tarasenko, you have to add Lehtera to his hip.

Wingers

Nikolai Kulemin $2,700 – Kulemin has been given an audition with Tavares and Okpso. I like the Isles on the road in this situation. They have cooled off after their hot start, but the Coyotes aren't exactly prime competition, and if they end up getting behind we could see the Isles try to kick this game into high gear. Islander games have averaged over 60 shots per game.

Tanner Pearson $2,900 – Pearson has been ice cold over the last few games, and has seen his price drop through the floor. That 70's line is still driving positive Corsi numbers, about 55% on Thursday night. This is still a very dangerous line, and the Kings will always be favored on home ice.

Defensemen

Lubomir Visnovsky $3,700 – There really isn't much I like down at this price level for Saturday at all. I'll give a hat tip to Visnovsky on the top and dangerous power-play unit for the Islanders. The Coyotes are a very poor penalty killing team, and this is a great spot for him and the Islanders to notch one or two.

Cody Franson $4,200 – I don't entirely like this pick but there is just a mess of slop at this price level on DraftKings today. They must have done something with their d-man pricing, made it better maybe? Franson is scooping up more power-play minutes and does have three points in his last two outings. Targeting Lundqvist isn't a great play but the Leafs at home will have a shot in this one and may even be favored. As of this writing, I haven't seen the lines for tomorrow.
