Paul MacLean Fired! Dave Cameron New Sens Coach

Fantasy Impact: The Ottawa Senators have fired Head Coach Paul MacLean. Replacing him is (now former) Assistant Coach Dave Cameron.
Ottawa gets: a 56-year-old former fringe NHLer (centerman) who played a gritty brand of hockey. Cameron coached in the OHL from 1997 through 2011, other than four seasons in which he was in the AHL (one with the Marlies as an assistant in 1999 and three as Head Coach of Binghamton). Cameron is reportedly given the head coaching job in Ottawa “without the interim tag”.
Any time a new coach takes over, status quo is obviously compromised. Right now, Hoffman is getting the sheltered minutes, as well as Stone. Legwand is getting tough minutes. This could remain the same, or it could be turned on its head. If Hoffman starts to get less-than-ideal minutes, his production will dry up. And perhaps Legwand starts to produce.
The team as a whole was not driving possession. Generally a shake-up like a coach being fired will put things back on track, at least for the short term.
