ANAHEIMEric Brewer (foot) may resume skating on his own this weekend but isn't close to a return.

 

ARIZONAShane Doan (lower body) is day-to-day and won't play Thursday night.

 

BUFFALOCody McCormick (leg) was placed on injured reserve on Tuesday.

 

BUFFALOBrian Gionta (upper body) was placed on injured reserve on Tuesday.

 

CALGARY – Sam Bennett (shoulder) is skating on his own but according to Calgary Flames head coach Bob Hartley, he’s not close to playing. With that said, he’s getting closer.

 

COLUMBUSBoone Jenner (back) is expected to miss one to two months because of a stress fracture in his lower back.

 

COLUMBUSArtem Anisimov (arm) has been skating for about a week now, he said. He said the challenge right now isn’t the pain, but “getting the power back.” There’s no timetable for his return, but he said he’s “close.”

 

COLUMBUSJack Skille (lower body) suffered a lower-body injury during a 5-2 loss at Toronto and could miss two weeks or more.

 

COLUMBUS – Ryan Murray (knee) is not close to being ready to play another game, and the Jackets will do nothing to rush him back. He has had far too many stops, starts and regressions during a months-long recovery from two knee scopes. He is expected to be thoroughly evaluated after the All-Star Game on Jan. 25.

 

DALLASVernon Fiddler (lower body) missed Tuesday game and should be listed as day-to-day.

 

DETROIT Johan Franzen (upper body) is day-to-day and will likely miss a minimum of a week.

 

DETROIT Jimmy Howard (groin) had an ultrasound on Monday and it confirmed a slight groin tear and will be sidelined for 2-4 weeks.

 

DETROIT Tomas Jurco (back) has a lower back injury, which the forward said had been building over time. He was scheduled to be evaluated by a back specialist on Friday and will miss a minimum of a week.

 

LOS ANGELESTanner Pearson (leg) will miss up to three months after undergoing leg surgery on Tuesday.

 

LOS ANGELESTyler Toffoli (mono) is out indefinitely with mononucleosis.

 

 

MINNESOTAJustin Falk (upper body) was placed on injured reserve on Wednesday.

 

MINNESOTAMarco Scandella (upper body) was placed on injured reserve on Wednesday.

 

NASHVILLERyan Ellis (lower body) will be out until after the NHL All-Star break.

 

NASHVILLEPekka Rinne (knee) sustained a sprained knee, which will cause him to miss the next three games and All-Star Weekend, the club announced Thursday. Rinne's status will be re-evaluated and updated after the NHL All-Star Break.

 

NEW JERSEYJaromir Jagr (illness) is not practicing with the New Jersey Devils for the third day in a row because of the flu and won’t accompany the team on three-game California road trip.

NEW YORK  – Mikhail Grabovski (lower body) is not practicing with the team and missed Tuesday night's game. He is still day-to-day.

 

NEW YORK  – Derek Stepan (upper body) is day-to-day with an upper-body injury but will accompany the New York Rangers on this three-game trip. Ranger head coach Alain Vigneault said it was highly unlikely that Stepan would play against the Bruins but nothing has been ruled out after that.

 

OTTAWAChris Neil (knee) who has missed the past nine games with a knee injury, participated in the Ottawa Senators optional morning skate Sunday. He is probably about 10 days away from returning.

 

PHILADELPHIASteve Mason (knee) is expected to miss two weeks because of a lower-body injury.

 

PHILADELPHIAKimmo Timonen (leg) tells CSN that he visits doctors within 10 days to see blood test results. He wants very much to play this year.

 

PHILADELPHIAScott Laughton (upper body) is day-to-day and won't play Thursday night.

 

PHILADELPHIABraydon Coburn (lower body)will be out four weeks with a lower-body injury.

 

PITTSBURGHOlli Maatta (shoulder) will miss the remainder of the season because he must undergo a second shoulder operation in the past eight months.

 

TAMPA BAYRadko Gudas (knee) is out four months after undergoing knee surgery last week.

 

TAMPA BAYVictor Hedman (lower body) is not considered long term and could return before the All-Star break.

 

TAMPA BAYTyler Johnson (lower body) is not considered long term and could return before the All-Star break.
