Fantasy Impact: The Boston Bruins have acquired forward Brett Connolly from the Tampa Bay Lightning for a pair of second-round draft picks (2015 and 2016).

The Lightning get: two mid to late second-round draft picks for their sixth overall pick from 2010. Not quite recovering that asset completely, but close.

Fantasy Players Impacted: Connolly gets a huge boost here. And that’s strange to say, given that he’s going to a very deep Bruins team. But Tampa Bay is even deeper, and the skill set and profile of the type of player that was ahead of him in TB pretty much matched his own – young, skilled, high upside. Boston, believe it or not, doesn’t have that in anywhere near the abundance that Tampa does. Here are the current Boston line combos (and you can get them for all teams here)

Look for Connolly to slot in on the Lucic line and replace Spooner. It’s an opportunity that he hasn’t seen in a couple of years.

1. Connolly

2. Vladislav Namestnikov (read up on him here)

Keeping Karlsson Short Shifts – The Wilkes-Jarry Penguins

Elizabeth and Lewis are back to take listeners through a host of power play changes that are giving managers the opportunity to get exposure to great players off the waiver wire, including Philly, Jersey, and Tampa talk. They also cover Jarry’s AHL demotion, Cooley’s ascension to the top-line and powerplay, and injuries to Tavares and Hintz. The duo wrap up with some hot and cold streak deep dives, including discussion of the Red Wings crazy powerplay success in the last ten games, whether Erik Gustafsson is rosterable or an overperforming illusion, Fantilli’s continued success, Merilainen as Hamburglar 2.0, and whether Schenn’s success and Neighbours’ lack thereof are likely to continue.
