Coretti takes his 35-19 record and picks six winners for Saturday’s NHL games

Call me Mr.50/50. This is almost silly now as I’ve gone yet another week of 50% capping. It’s coming down to crunch time and this is traditionally my favorite time to wager on the NHL. Time to finish strong and #GETTHATMONEY.

Record: 35 – 19

NY Rangers @ Boston (1pm ET)

This is a very tough spot for the Bruins as they take on a Rangers squad who are 8-2 in their past 10 games. Furthermore, the Bruins are riding a six game losing streak heading into this matinee matchup. This isn’t necessarily a do or die game for the Bruins, however, there is no doubt that a win here would be huge. Boston is currently on the outside looking in as they are tied for points with the Senators for the final wild card spot. I like the Bruins here for a few reasons. First, David Krejci is back and I think this will spark the Bees down the stretch. Second, Henrik Lundqvist is projected to start and although that is usually a bad thing for opposing teams… he’s coming of a long layoff into a hostile environment. Third, the Bruins always show up to play the Rangers and this afternoon should be no different. Take the Bruins.

Columbus @ St. Louis (8pm ET)

The Blue Jackets continue to roll as they have now won five straight. Columbus have scored a whopping 23 goals in their past 5 games. When healthy, the Blue Jackets are definitely a force. The Blues return home after a six game road trip and will be well rested as they have been off for three full days. The last time these teams met Columbus steamrolled the Blues for a 7-1 win. I feel like the Blues had this game circled and they are catching the Blue Jackets on the tail end of a B2B… take the Blues.

Key Stat: Blue Jackets are 9-28-1 in the last 38 meetings in St.Louis.

Pick: St. Louis –  Home Team Win – H

Los Angeles @ Minnesota (8pm ET)

I’ve been riding the Wild ever since the All-star break. Minnesota is and will be a force to be reckoned with once the post-season arrives. The Wild come into this matchup having downed the Flames last night 4-2. Devan Dubnyk continues to get it done and the Wild are inching closer to overtake the Blackhawks for a divisional seed. But there is another team that I’ve been riding over the past few weeks as well… and they are the Kings. Los Angeles seems to love the pressure and with the Flames loss last night they could create some more separation with a win in this pivotal matchup. This game should be tight but I like the Kings here as the Wild are playing the second game of a B2B and should be fatigued when the 3rd rolls around… where the Kings excel most. Take the Kings.

Key Stat: Road team is 4-1 in the last 5 meetings.

Pick: Los Angeles –  Visitor Team Win – V

Buffalo @ Colorado (9pm ET)

This pick is based on two main facts. First, the Sabres stink as they have one win in their past 10 games. Second, the Avalanche own the Sabres as they have outscored the Sabres 16-4 in their last three matchups. Take the Avalanche and don’t be scared to touch the puck line.

Key Stat: Sabres are 0-8 in the last 8 meetings.

Pick: Colorado – Home Team Win – H
