Rounding up the latest NHL injury news, including Letang, Pearson, Datsyuk and others…

 

With less than two weeks remaining in the NHL season, it is so important to pay attention to injury reports as teams are sitting players with minor injuries, which can have a huge affect on your fantasy roster. Here is the latest injury updates:

ANAHEIM – Ryan Kesler (elbow – March 31 – day-to-day) missed practice Tuesday and had his elbow wrapped. According to head coach Bruce Boudreau, Kesler missed practice as a maintenance day and is not hurt and is expected to play Wednesday.

ANAHEIM – Matt Beleskey (lower body – March 29 – day-to-day) took warm-ups on Sunday but couldn't play.

BOSTON – Dougie Hamilton (undisclosed – March 22 – indefinitely) is out indefinitely and with no update, as per head coach Claude Julien.

NASHVILLE – James Neal (upper body – March 14 – day-to-day) participated in morning skate on Tuesday. GM David Poile expects both Neal and Weber to be absolutely ready for the playoffs.

NEW YORK – Frans Nielsen (undisclosed – April 1 – day-to-day) is dealing with some sort of injury and head coach Jack Capuano is unsure if he'll be available Thursday.

NEW YORK – Martin St. Louis (knee – March 16 – day-to-day) is expected to participate in first full practice Wednesday and should return Thursday, according to head coach Alain Vigneault.Martin St. Louis NYR

OTTAWA – Milan Michalek (upper body – March 22 – day-to-day) skated before practice on Monday and missed Tuesday's game against the Detroit Red Wings.

OTTAWA – Robin Lehner (concussion – February 19 – day-to-day) remains out indefinitely with a concussion.

PHILADELPHIA – Wayne Simmonds (leg – March 25 – out for season) is expected to be out four weeks and therefore will miss the remainder of the season.

PITTSBURGH – Kris Letang (concussion – March 28 – day-to-day) was released from hospital on Sunday and has been diagnosed with a concussion.

PITTSBURGH – Christian Ehrhoff (upper body – March 25 – day-to-day) is expected to be out several days according to head coach Mike Johnston.

SAN JOSE – Marc-Edouard Vlasic (lower body – March 28 – day-to-day) won't play Wednesday and is questionable for the next game.

ST. LOUIS – Vladimir Tarasenko (lower body – March 30 – day-to-day) left Monday's game and is out with a lower body injury and no word on how serious it is.

ST. LOUIS – Alexander Steen (lower body – March 28 – day-to-day) left Saturday's game and hasn't played since. He remains day-to-day.

TAMPA BAY – Victor Hedman (lower body – March 31 – day-to-day) is questionable according to head coach John Cooper and he missed Tuesday's game and is officially listed as day-to-day.

TAMPA BAY – Tyler Johnson (upper body – March 30 – day-to-day) missed Monday's and Tuesday's game due to an upper body injury.
