Fantasy Impact: The Buffalo Sabres have fired their head coach, Ted Nolan.

The Sabres get: rid of a coach who probably eeked out more wins than he should have and made more games closer than would a lot of other coaches. The Sabres knew in advance what kind of team they were icing and, if anything, Nolan was winning too many games by the midpoint. The Sabres were 14-21-3 on January 1, which was good for 28th. This was the worst team in the league both on paper, as well as in the minds of 99% of hockey fans and pundits.

Keeping Karlsson Short Shifts – The Wilkes-Jarry Penguins

Elizabeth and Lewis are back to take listeners through a host of power play changes that are giving managers the opportunity to get exposure to great players off the waiver wire, including Philly, Jersey, and Tampa talk. They also cover Jarry’s AHL demotion, Cooley’s ascension to the top-line and powerplay, and injuries to Tavares and Hintz.
