Top Budget Plays
Centers
Matt Stajan $2,900 –This is where it starts getting really ugly with all these overlapping slates and values just become less and less plentiful. Our threshold is $3,000 or lower so do keep that in mind. Stajan had a tough night but s did pretty much the entire Flames team did in Game 1. While I do not expect Calgary to get blown out that badly in Game 2, expect a lot of attempts and up and down hockey. At least Stajan might be worth a shot.
Wingers
Justin Fontaine $2,900 –With risks galore, Fontaine could be a fun play given that no one will remember to use him since this is a two day slate. While he has not lit it up exactly, his speed and hands could be just what Minnesota needs to combat Chicago. At the very least some of these games in the series are going to be high scoring and Fontaine loves chaotic environments. This is a high risk GPP play but we have seen and done worse.
Since we saved some money on the budget plays let's look at the few of the pricey options that are worth paying up for today.
Centers
Ryan Getzlaf $8,900–You look at an elite playoff performer and against Calgary in Game 1, the Getzlaf line was having a blast. The center himself had a four point night and that was good for a whopping 11 DraftKings points. That likely will not happen again but if he gets about half of that, not many people are going to complain. The Ducks power play looked the best it has in over a month. Getzlaf could have a good night again in Game 2.
Wingers
Patrick Kane $8,600 –There is a reason why they call him "Showtime" and he will be on the Sunday stage all ready to go. He had two points in the series clincher against Nashville and is showing the speed needed to blow by even the fastest defenders from Minnesota. The Blackhawks play loose and free for the most part so goals could still be in demand. Kane is a moderate risk GPP with very good upside still. After all, he does seem to like playing on the weekend and especially at home against Minnesota.
Defensemen
P.K. Subban $7,800 –Oh a game 2 at home against Tampa Bay just seems like a nice time to start the Norris Trophy finalist. After all, you get the sense that the defenseman could just break out at any minute. People must understand that Ben Bishop has a tendency to make things look like an adventure and can get burned. Montreal also has had chances on the power play. Detroit exposed the Tampa Bay penalty kill and the Subban shot could do that for Montreal.
Goalie
Henrik Lundqvist $8,800 –This is not an easy play and does make us queasy because of Lundqvist's history against Washington but to say he was pissed after giving up a game winning goal to Joel Ward with 1.3 seconds left was an understatement. It otherwise marred a game where the Swedish goalie was very good to elite in net for the New York Rangers but in the end he was just a little too deep in his crease on that last second goal. Call it a lesson learned as New York is expected to come out full guns blazing. That should help Lundqvist.
