The latest injury news on Jakob Silfverberg, Danny DeKeyser, Jordan Eberle, Brad Marchand, Tyler Johnson and more…

Well, week 1 has come and gone. With it came a few new injuries, a few recoveries, and a few players powering through their ailments to get back in the fight.

ANAHEIM Jakob Silfverberg – Back on track. The swede is playing as well as ever upon recovery from that headhunt by Raffi Torres.

BOSTON Dennis Seidenberg – Seidenberg is still 5-6 weeks out, recovering.

BOSTON Brad Marchand – The Bruins’ favorite pest will have to bother someone else for the next few weeks. He’s out indefinitely with a concussion after taking a Dale Weise elbow to the head on Saturday night.

BOSTON Zdeno Chara – Chara returned to the lineup on Monday, Oct 13th. He played 21 minutes and was a minus-2, but at least he’s back in action.

BUFFALO Zach Bogosian – The Sabres’ waived defenseman Matt Donovan, which might hint at a return from Bogo in the near future. Keep your ear to the ground on this one.

CALGARY Lance Bouma –Bouma suffered a broken left fibula Tuesday night and will miss three months. Too bad, the Flames were doing really well with his secondary scoring.

CAROLINA James Wisniewski – Forty-seven seconds is all he needed to play apparently, as the Wiz is out for six months!

COLUMBUS Alexander Wennberg – The winger impacted with a Chris Kreider-looking object and that never turns out to be a good thing. He’s out indefinitely with a concussion.

DALLAS Patrick Eaves – Eaves might be week-to-week here after suffering an injury in Tuesday’s game.

DETROIT Pavel Datsyuk – Datsyuk’s ankle is still keeping him out, and it doesn’t look like he needs to rush back. With Justin Abdelkader potting his league-leading 4th goal and Dylan Larkin making a Calder bid, Datsyuk can take as long as he needs to get to 100%.

DETROIT Danny DeKeyser – 3-4 weeks is still the prognosis for the Wings’ defenseman.

EDMONTON Jordan Eberle – As expected, Eberle’s injury has seriously affected the Oilers. Scoring just three goals in three games (and one of those was an own-goal) is abysmal, especially considering they were finally going to be good again! Oh well. As we say in Toronto, “there’s always next year”! Eberle is still 7-9 weeks away from playing.

MINNESOTA Justin Fontaine – Fontaine is ready to make his return from the IR on Thursday.

MONTREAL Zach Kassian – Kassian still isn’t out of rehab for substance abuse. He’ll be there indefinitely, so don’t hold your breath here.

NEW JERSEY Patrik Elias – Elias has skated a bit, and might make a return in the next two weeks.

NEW YORK ISLANDERS Jaroslav Halak – Still day-to-day. The injury-prone goalie hasn’t improved much since last week.

NEW YORK ISLANDERS Thomas Hickey – Hickey still has two weeks left on his timetable, out with a UBI.

OTTAWA Andrew Hammond – Hammond was just cleared to play. Expect to see him somewhere on the Sens’ upcoming road trip.

PITTSBURGH Pascal Dupuis – The Pens no doubt miss him, as he was one of their top penalty killers. Marc-Andre Fleury owners are likely fuming too.

PITTSBURGH Eric Fehr – The Pens are still missing Fehr, who is week-to-week recovering from elbow surgery.

ST. LOUIS Kevin Shattenkirk – Shatty got himself hurt during Tuesday night’s tilt. He’ll be re-evaluated in the morning, which is probably before you read this.

ST. LOUIS Robby Fabbri – The Blues’ rookie looked great out of the gate, but will be sidelined for the foreseeable future with a concussion.

TAMPA BAY Tyler Johnson – The injuries continue for the Triplets’ center. He fell into the boards awkwardly and tried his best to play through it, but he might have hurt his back.

TAMPA BAY Andrey Vasilevskiy – Vasi is due for a checkup on October 21st. Keep him in your mind before then and you might have a chance to rip off your leaguemates. This could be your last week!

TORONTO Stephane Robidas – Robidas was put on the IR earlier last week, and still hasn’t played or practiced.

VANCOUVER Chris Higgins – Higgins still seems to be out of the lineup because of his broken foot.

WASHINGTON Nicklas Backstrom – Backstrom participated in a red, non-contact jersey at practice. However, he was able to do more drills as a result, so this isn’t a setback by any means.

WASHINGTON Alex Ovechkin – Didn’t see Ovi appear to will Washington to a win over San Jose? Fortunately, he’s not ill or injured, but unfortunately he got himself healthy scratched. Dude set his alarm to 8:30 pm instead of am, and Trotz had to scratch him. He’s fine though, don’t worry about the next game.

You gave me a scare including Silfverberg, seeing as how he's played in both Anaheim contests so far and racked up 9 shots. I thought he had gone and gotten hurt again
