Picking the winners of the NHL games this Saturday, November 7.

Last Saturday I went 3-3, which is not how I roll. However, to be fair it was Halloween and many games brought some surprises. One of those games was the Isles versus Devils as John Tavares was held out. This weekend I look to bounce back in a big way and get my record back on track. Tonight offers a smaller slate of games but there are some juicy matchups. Time to #GETTHATMONEY.

Record: 16 – 8

Florida @ Los Angeles (3pm ET)

It seems like the Kings have gotten back on track after stumbling out of the gates to start the season. Los Angeles is 8-2 in their last 10 games as they currently are sixth in the Western Conference. The Panthers have had a rough go as of late as they come into this matchup riding a four-game losing streak. Jonathan Quick has not looked all that great in his last few starts but if he can put up a decent performance… the Kings should get the W here at home. Take the Kings.

Key Stat: Panthers are 0-6 in the last 6 meetings in Los Angeles.

Pick: Los Angeles – Home Team Win – H

Boston @ Montreal (7pm ET)

No Carey, no problem. I like the Canadians here even with Mike Condon projected to start. And why not? Condon has been phenomenal in relief of Price as he has a 5-0-1 record with a 1.50 GAA and .941 SV%. On the other end we have Tuukka Rask who has been having a terrible season. A visit to the Bell Centre is definitely a recipe for disaster and if the Habs score early it could get ugly for Rask. The Canadians have not lost in regulation at home this season and they are currently the highest scoring team in the NHL with 55 goals. These are major warning signs as Tuukka will be in tough tonight. Take the Canadians.

Key Stat: Bruins are 0-7 in the last 7 meetings.

Pick: Montreal – Home Team Win – H

Toronto @ Washington (7pm ET)

I keep fading these Maple Laughs every week. I really can’t think of a single reason why the Leafs win this game. The Caps dominate them in practically every department. Additionally, the Leafs are on the tail end of a B2B as they lost last night versus the Red Wings in overtime. The Caps are 8-2 in their past 10 games and those two losses came against tough teams in the Rangers and Pens. The Capitals usually punish weaker teams and they could easily win this game by two goals or more. Also, with Jonathan Bernier sidelined… who gets the start? Is James Reimer going to play the B2B because if so he could get lit up as the Caps are rested and waiting to go. Take the Caps.

Key Stat: Maple Leafs are 0-4 in the last 4 meetings in Washington.

Pick: Washington – Visitor Team Win – H

Philadelphia @ Winnipeg (7pm ET)

Boy oh boy what is going on in the City of Brotherly Love? The Flyers have been atrocious to start the year as they sit near the bottom of the Eastern Conference. Jakub Voracek has yet to light the lamp this season as he is goalless in 13 games. The Jets on the other hand have had a rather solid start as they are fourth place in the Western Conference. Winnipeg returns home for this one as they were on the road for four games in which they went 2-1-1. The Flyers will have a tough time tonight as the Jets should be able to throw their weight around. With the Flyers looking so lifeless to start the season and currently riding a five-game losing streak… give me the Jets at home.

Key Stat: Home team is 5-1 in the last 6 meetings.

Pick: Winnipeg – Home Team Win – H

New York @ Arizona (9pm ET)

Keith Yandle returns home for this one and when he steps back in Arizona he will wonder… what the hell took me so long to get out of here!? But seriously, although the Rangers are coming into this one having played last night… how can I bet against them? Antti Raanta is expected to start in this one seeing how the King played last night in the Rangers’ 2-1 versus the Avalanche. If you ask me Antti has earned himself the nickname of “Prince Raanta” as he has been King like with 44 saves on 45 shots this season in his only two appearances. I think the Rangers will cruise to a routine W here as they have a deep lineup even with Rick Nash out.

Key Stat: Rangers are 4-0 in the last 4 meetings.

Pick: New York – Visitor Team Win – V

Pittsburgh @ Calgary (10pm ET)

I hate Mike Johnston. But to be fair the Pens are winning. They won again last night against a demoralized Oilers squad who began life without Connor McDavid. The Pens have now won five straight and have only allowed six goals over that span. Sidney Crosby has started a mini two-game point streak as he notched an assist last night. Sid has looked a lot better recently and a matchup with the Flames could easily increase his point streak to three games. The Flames have come crashing down back to earth after their remarkable play last season. The Flames are 3-6-1 in their last 10 games and they currently sit at the bottom of the Western Conference. The goaltending for Calgary has been brutal as they have allowed 57 goals this season which is the most in the NHL. To make matters worse for the Flames, Marc-Andre Fleury is slated to start and he has been a wall this season. Give me the Pens.

Key Stat: Penguins are 12-2 in the last 14 meetings.

Pick: Pittsburgh – Visitor Team Win – V

It's Canadiens, not Canadians. Sorry, but that's been bothering me for weeks.
