Top 100 Rotisserie Players – November 2015

Mike McMillan

2015-11-16

The top 100 roto rankings at mid-November. Where do struggling players fit in?

Player values for the Top 100 Roto Rankings are generated by the guys at FantasyHockeyGeek.com and are weighted over multiple years to determine a player's production consistency.  We use their per-game averages to account for player who have missed time in the past due to injury, so this is then weighted against the Dobber Hockey player projections to boil down the evaluations into one single number and rank the top 100 players in fantasy hockey (forwards and defensemen only).

The categories included in the values are G, A, +/-, PIM, PPP, SOG, and Hits.

This month we have enough player data to look at some trends that could signal players rising up or falling down the Top 100.  If you’re a frustrated Jakub Voracek owner (I know how you feel), don’t panic, better days are ahead.  Voracek finally broke the ice and got his first goal of the season last night to beat the Hurricanes in overtime. His 59 shots on goal place him in the top 15 overall in the NHL.  As the season goes on, he should start creeping back to his CSH% and putting more points on the board.  The time to buy low on him has likely passed, but if you can still trade for him at a decent value, do it quick.  He fell to number 56 for this month’s rankings but we expect him to rise significantly for December.

Some other underperforming stars that you likely spent a high draft pick on include Sidney Crosby – who was widely projected to be the leading point scorer in the NHL with the addition of Phil Kessel – and the captain of the struggling Anaheim Ducks, Ryan Getzlaf, who has yet to score.  Again, too early to panic as they should have some puck luck coming their way, but worth monitoring both situations as the teams are not as strong offensively compared to previous years. The Penguins are 27th in the NHL in GF (goals for) and the Ducks are dead last with only 28 in 17 games played.

Unfortunately we are robbed of what was shaping up to be an incredible rookie season from Connor McDavid. After breaking his collar bone he’s out for “months” according to team sources.  We remain optimistic that he will still be fantasy relevant this season so remains on this list and currently sits at 32 based on his per game averages.
